"Attached to the NH hotel we stayed in we were reticent to eat here as hotel restaurants, especially those that aspire to be chic , are generally disappointing for so many reasons. After an afternoon session at La Feria de Caballo and a pleasant evening of walking around the city we needed to fortify ourselves for the night session at La Feria, so went downstairs to La Cuchara. The menu provided a good selection of what turned out to be tasty food, We had the tomato salad, flor alcachofa, courgette spirals with bacon and kimuchi vieiras. None were huge portions but were sufficient and only the vieira disappointed and that because there was no evidence of kimuchi rather than because it was a small ration, which it certainly was. The service was efficient, especially given how busy they were and even the most pompous of the waiters was charming and effective in his role. Not sure what sort of establishment this is as the decor was sort of bistro meets minimalist combined with a bit of Spanish traditional and chrome, but that didn 't matter as the food tasted well and was not overly expensive for what it is. I can imagine Spanish people being a bit upset about the prices if they only came here for a drink but to be fair I refer to my original comment re being attached to an hotel. I would be happy to eat here again but it would not be my first choice in Jerez."

En los bajos del hotel NH, un buen restaurante. Carta corta pero sabrosa, que combina cocina local con platos elaborados de cocina internacional. Bonito local, buen servicio y precios moderados para el tipo de cocina que ofrecen. Buen servicio. Recomendable.

We made our first visit on a quiet night with two friends who live in Jerez and know Carlos. The menu had been pre-ordered as they wanted a 'pairing ' menu which involves a number of tapas dishes matched with appropriate sherries. The restaurant had taken great trouble to make the selection and food (and sherries) was expertly prepared and served. We enjoyed five or six excellent courses (and sherries) in a convivial atmosphere with very friendly staff. The restaurant is also very convenient for the Sherry Park Hotel where we were staying....
