"Village curry take away is usually absolutely wonderful with great flavours and spices. We decided to have another take away a week ago from village curry. It was really nice however I agree with a lot of people, these curries are very oily! Don’t even think about buying side dishes from here! I’ve had samosas, bhajis and naan from here, all flavourless and disgusting! So... the curry I ordered last week made me seriously ill. Had horrific stomach cramps worst pain I’ve ever been in and very bad toilet. I was wondering perhaps I had food poisoning but luckily these symptoms only lasted for 1 day. Would not order from here again, not sure about their health and safety practises (maybe meat was off in my curry? ."

Tandoori lamb chops are usually beautiful and cooked just right but tonight they are tough and overcooked . Maybe they have a different supplier?

Lamb Ragistani, Pilau Rice and Peshwari Naan. Very good food full of flavour and well cooked. Quick service while I waited. Ingredients tasted fresh too! Will be back for more.

fantastic eating and getting hot at delivery. have used many different places in pastness, was so fed, so believed and village called curry, and this is by far our favorite. always happy with vegetarian options and the lambsamosas are the best around. highly recommended!

our new favorite outing in wokingham. we have now ordered a few fair times and eating was always excellent. we actually had a small step with our last order, but it was immediately treated. eating was always sincerely good when you look for an Indian in the Wokingham area, use these young!

Slow, unwelcoming counter service, old decor, no receipt, order errors, inedible, partly cooked returned via collection driver, plated food binned, my phone number blocked. Returned in person to follow up since the call back requested by driver never came and attempts over several days to get through on phone and social media unsuccessful. Unprofessional, rude encounter recorded. Partial refund offered. On both Saturday visits, no other customers present or calling. Query hygiene standards. View menu

Our go to Indian is closed so looking through reviews decided to try a takeaway from here, the food arrived in the given time stated from just eat and was piping hot when it arrived.I was disappointed with the amount ordered that papadums were not thrown in as several Indians we have had takeaways from always have. The curry’s we ordered were so generous and had lots of flavour and taste and enough to share very easily. The garlic naan bread was one of the best I had and was of good size.Lovely food and would definitely order again.

We’ve ordered a number of times from here but unfortunately this is the last as the standards seemed to have really dropped. First off the delivery was late but the food was just awful, every dish was swimming in oils and even draining it off couldn’t get rid of the bulk of it. The king prawns were nothing of the sort, a few tiny shrimps with the dish bulked out with peppers and onion. Even the peshwari naan was undercooked. A real shame as this used to be our favourite Indian Takeaway but somethings changed and the quality is awful.

"Posting on behalf of PeterfromSandhurst, who was limited to only review per month. As I was of the people on this visit, I agree with everything that has been said and whole heartedly recommend the Lord Raglan for family visits. On to...the actual review. visit, this time with six people comprising three generations aged (that day) to almost We agreed that we would just keep ordering one or two plates every minute or so and share them so we could all eat the entire menu, a bit at a time. Over hours and plates of food later the results were in, we had eaten the menu! The clear favourite by show of hands (from the little ones and the ladies) was the sticky toffee pudding (no surprises there). Choosing favourites after that was very hard indeed as they were all good. The haddock was excellent with a close dense batter that was both light but substantial (don’t ask me how) and closely hugged the good sized piece of fish. It held heat well, tasted good (both batter and fish) and remained crisp until the last bite despite not rushing to eat it. The chicken (breast pieces in the sharing platter and the smoky spicy thighs dish) were also great. Moist, very tasty but the thighs a tad spicy/smoky for the children (the smoky hit is pretty instant for a kid) but the adults all loved them, the crunchy crusted breast fillets were loved by all. The ribs were moist, delicious, plentiful and fell apart simply by looking at them. The meat board (usually a shared starter) scored highly again with the juicy pork leek sausages beautifully finished with scorched crispy skin just like the very best BBQs can manage but still wonderfully moist inside. Pulled brisket very juicy, still not sure what they use instead of butter but it works perfectly. The Korean chicken burger with kimchi was a hit with my wife (she hadn’t had kimchi before) leaving a nice afterglow without any blast of heat. She just read this and said “The sausages were delicious, I really liked those, next time I go, I am going to have sausage and mash”. Well that’s her bit done. Oh, and by the way, it was steak day (every Thursday it seems), and the steaks come as a package with chips, a sauce choice and a drink (soft or wine etc) at discounted prices, so we had a few of those too. Ordered medium rib eyes, held our breath, and low and behold medium rib eyes arrived (well done chef! And eat your heart out Miller and Carter). So if you are sick to death of places that can’t cook a steak properly, try here. I hadn’t eaten Mac and cheese for years but tried that too and found the cheese was great, had a real intense depth of flavour and lovely grilled crusty edges (that you pick out of your teeth for the next minutes mmmm). If you have the time to spend a few hours mid week with people you love in a quirky but relaxed atmosphere you could do worse than try this tasting menu approach to culinary socialising. The Staff could not have been more accommodating, despite the unconventional nature of our visit. Thank you Beth and Leah, you did an excellent job. I made a couple of remarks on my first visit about how I might improve things if I was permitted to stick my oar in and again. Bang, they had been implemented just two days later. Amazing stuff Lily (boss), you are a star. Any kitchen that consistently turns out dish after dish like this one does, has something going right. See you again soon."
