"Booked a table for 8 of us at 7.30. When the first of the party arrived they were met with a grumpy bar person who growled that the table was booked for 8pm, not a good start to the night. We ordered drinks which were slow to arrive and ordered our food when drinks arrived. Waiter came back to say they only had one portion of scampi!!! Bit surprising considering this is a frozen packet meal and the hotel only re opened 6 days previously. Starters eventually came followed by cutlery some time later. Main courses arrived which were served on cold plates, we had to wait on all 8 meals before cutlery was brought to the table, I had Salmon which by the time I got cutlery was cold, it was served with 2 small potatoes and very small portion of veg. 2 of the party had Rib Eye steak but the steak knives were blunt so they didn't enjoy sawing their way through. Our Bill was just over £25 per head for 1 round of drinks, 2 bottles of wine, 4 starters and 8 mains, not good value at all. The waiter was at best grumpy, atmosphere non existent, and the room was cold unless you were sitting at the wood burning stove, there was a lovely fire at the other end if the room but unfortunately was not lit, so most of our party were freezing. This hotel has no other nearby competition so obviously don't think they need to make an effort. We won't be back"

I enjoyed everything I tried at this restaurant. The fish was very fresh and the wine was great, even at a lower price point.

Had a lovely lunch here today after a day in the mountains. Nice little restaurant, recently reopened after being closed for a few months. Food lovely and owners very friendly and welcoming. Great views over the Loch.

We dined at this restaurant twice while staying in the area. They were very accommodating as we had two dogs and a one-year-old with us. The food was excellent with a wide variety to choose from and generous portions. The location was great, and even though it was June, the wood-burning stove made it feel very cozy and welcoming.

we were attracted in by the views and the fact that it was dog friendly. The staff were very friendly. Good choices on the menu and specials board. The food was plentiful and very tasty indeed. I found it to be rather pricey but others in the area seemed to be of similar costs. There is a small outside area with views across Loch Tay. View menu

An unexpected stop for an evening meal on Sunday was just what required. The wet weather had dampened some spirits but not with the log fire being lit on our arrival. This provided some warmth but so did the whisky. We had not booked ahead but would recommend this to others. We had high expectations having been here before some time ago. The menu fitted both my husband and parents needs. Offering a choice of roasts but we all chose the tradiational roast beef with all the trimmings, then finishing with apple pie and custard.

Greeted on arrival by two very friendly and well-mannered Australian girls. Asked for a pint of Guinness, was given draught in a can which was put onto some sort of machine for reasons I'm not entirely sure. Charged £3.80 for the privilege. Fish chips for dinner was reasonable enough, if slightly on the pricey side. Barmaid/waitress couldn't be more helpful enough. Became aware of loud swearing coming from the kitchen where it was obvious the French sounding chef hated his job. I don't mind swearing in a pub, but this was over the score. Kitchen door was eventually closed.

I was staying locally and looking for somewhere to eat with family, drove past this place googled it read there website the pics of food looked amazing read a couple of reviews booked WHAT a letdown by far one of the worst meals ever top tip change the oil in the frier ! Soggy burnt chips tasting of old oil !! Oh and put real photos of your food on website !! The burger looked amazing but didn't exist do yourself a favour if you want to eat keep driving either to Killin in one direction or Aberfeldy in the other do yourself a favour give this place a miss !!! Oh I've also been up half the night with a dodgy tummy !!!!!! Average price isn't £9.95 either more like £13.95 ... very disappointed View menu

It was a really pleasant surprise to stop in for late lunch at the Ben Lawers this summer. The menu was more expansive than most and was supplemented with a substantial amount of blackboard specials. I now know it's a popular place for climbers/Monroe baggers to start from but the variety on offer in such a remote seeming place surprised me when I first walked in. Weather permitting, its a lovely spot to stop for a stretch and a cup of tea even if you don't eat. We did and didn't regret it.My brie and bacon hotpot was lovely and my lady's smoked fish got particularly high praise. Main courses were tasty, large, and slightly overcooked but we're talking good pub grub here rather than fine din...

We dined at this restaurant last night and drove 40 minutes from St Fillans up windy, dark roads, even encountering a few sheep along the way! It was absolutely worth it! The staff, a friendly man and woman (not sure if they are the owners), were charming and welcoming. We sat by a wood burning stove, creating a cozy atmosphere. I started with the potted Brie, bacon, and cranberry served with fresh ciabatta and salad, while my boyfriend had the Wee Taste haggis and black pudding with a whiskey cream sauce - both dishes were fantastic! Our main courses were exceptional as well. I had the lamb shank casserole which was unbelievably tender and flavorful. It was served simply with mash and was d...

"We visited to see the Beatrix Potter Exhibition with family who were visiting and spent a lovely hour going around the exhibition, however our nice time was rudely interrupted by the elderly lady working in the cafe with dyed black curly hair. We have one child with serious allergies, so instead of one child feeling left out and risking cross exposure, we packed safe snacks for all the kids going anywhere with allergies is an absolute nightmare, so we always do this. Most places are trained and appreciative of how hard it is to eat out with allergens and happy to make reasonable adjustments for this. All four adults ate from the cafe. When part of our order was delivered, we were told “this isn’t a picnic area, you can’t eat your own food, you wouldn’t take food in to McDonald’s” (whilst looking at the 2 year old eating her snacks) when I responded yes I actually would, we have a child with allergies, she asked if it was serious allergies to which I said yes and she scoffed and left, no apology, nothing. I must add that whether the children would be eating or not, they would still have to sit at the table and take up the same amount of space. Would the children also be prevented from sitting because they didn’t buy from the cafe? Still waiting on my food order twenty minutes later and having already finished my coffee and frustrated at the wait, I asked for a refund as we now felt hurried to leave because of how upset she was at the children eating snacks at the table without purchasing them in their cafe. I got the refund for my missing meal and we left without going to the shop or seeing the other art, it has left a bad taste in my mouth. We spent just shy of £100 in the place and to be spoken to like that was horrible. The elderly employee with dyed black hair really needs some training on customer service and manners. The way she looked at us as we left was awful, we will not be returning. This place is not welcoming of children or those with allergies I dread to think how they would react to someone who is tube fed, probably told to eat outside just avoid."
