"We have been going here for meals for a number of years and it has always been great. Something has changed! I don 't know whether it is the suppliers, or the chef, but the food today was truly awful soggy, oily chips that tasted...strange, and battered fish that looked suspiciously like it had been bought in ready battered. That isn 't a problem in itself but it was soggy. That was sent back, but the replacement was exactly the same. Both members of staff that spoke to us gave us an almost scripted 'it 's the sugar content of the potatoes at this time of the year ' explanation, but we have been at this time of year plenty of times and never been presented with brown soggy chips. Sucrose builds up in spuds when they are stored incorrectly in conditions that are too cold; anyway, whatever they explanation, they should not have been served! If you care to look back through my reviews, I have given The D&P glowing reviews before and I am sure I will do again, but this needed saying!"

Excellent real ale (3 on at a time). The food is out of this world. Not cheap but well worth every penny!! The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Been a few times for afternoon tea which is amazing but went for a meal tonight and everything was great proper home cooked food and staff are all lovely and friendly defo be back soon

Been loyal customers for many years but tonight the food was just off the normal standard. God knows what’s happens to the chips, they where vile tonight. The ribs half of them where fat. Love the dog but really don’t know what went wrong in...this visit

fantastic eating. my personal recommendation would be the seared chicken livers starter. simply the best chicken liver shell I've ever had, and I'm a big fan of chicken livers. the kleftiko has so much in terms of taste, it makes the choice of everything else from the menu quite difficult.

What a fantastic pub! Myself and my partner came here for a meal and drinks and were both very impressed with the warm welcome, quality of service and standard of food. The staff were great and completed our experience. We will definitely return and recommend...to friends and family. Thank you Dog Partridge and we’ll see you again soon!

This has been our favourite restaurant for years, though we haven't visited for a while, but today's lunch was very disappointing. The menu was full of very basic items; the food we chose was no better than average; none of us felt it was value...for money; the chips were not at all nice tasting; we didn't bother to stay for desserts. Sadly, we'll have to start looking for a new favourite.

4 of us visited today for the first time and what a lovely experience, we all can’t wait to return. The staff were excellent, very engaging nothing was too much trouble and they all looked like they were enjoying there job. We had the warm...salmon salad, the Cajun chicken salad, the lamb and the hanging kebab and nobody had a bad word to say about anything, in fact the person who had the lamb said it was the best he had ever had and we eat out a lot.
