"so ive visited the El Pikosito on the of july , with my family , and full of expectations of real authentic quality mexican food , ive been sadly , let down , first thing was the atmosphere was far from mexican ,...more like a sportsbar than mexican for sure , then the food itself was average at best i must say as was the prices , nothing even remotely to the authentic quality you get in mexico , its a damn shame really, so if your just looking for a sportsbar with a mexican style and average mexican styled food for a average price , sure go ahead by all means , but anyone else with high expectations for authentic quality mexican food , all i can say is this , if you want authentic quality you have to actually visit the place the food originates from , so for mexican food youd have to visit mexico , i really wished i couldve reviewed more positive but sadly i cant, thats all folks"

In Germany it's hard to come by real Mexican food. This is the only restaurant so far where I could eat authentic Mexican tacos and burritos.

We loved this place. It’s authentic and delicious. I always judge a Mexican restaurant by the Molé and the Molé was amazing!!! Good portions and prices and on yeah Hamaica to drink!!!

My wife and I had dinner here and food was okay so far, quite authentic, and the staff was friendly. Place looks a little bit out-dated, but others would call it rustic charm We also El Tequito which is around Km away and we...like(d) the food there even more.

El Pikosito offers a wide variety of tasty, well-priced Mexican food. My girlfriend and I shared chilli con carn and tortilla chips, tacos, enchiladas, two cocktails and two coffees. There was plenty of food and the bill came to euros, which is very good....Recommended! View menu

It was a random visit to El Pikosito during Hamburg port's birthday. The price of the food was reasonable (meal price varied from to Euros). There was a lot of local liquor from mexico. Foremost of all the taste of the food was...awesome. We will definitely go there again very soon.

Surprised to see many considering this restaurant to be authentic and of great quality. We found it to be very average. nothing to rave about. Even the drinks are no where near perfect cocktails like Cairpirinha or Margarita. The food is average. We were and were made to sit on a table meant for six persons. Another table next to ours meant for persons was stuffed with persons. Overall not recommended

The greatest about this restaurant is the atmosphere inside it has a very cosy atmosphere. The decoration looks great and authentic and finally the music is nice. Well it wouldn't be a good restaurant if the food wasn't good and off course the food is...god it has a extensive menu which the waiter was happy to explain to us. The food is good and cheap. They also have quiet some nice cocktails all together a nice place to eat when you don't want to spend much. View menu

We went there because we got good recommendations from friends. The team is really nice and they are quite fast. The nachos were not what I was expecting with backed cheese but with cheese sauce. However the flavour was really good. We ate...chimichangas and quesadilla El Pastor: really good both. The quesadilla was specially a surprise, as it looked mostly filled with salad. However, when I tried it I found a flavoured meat in perfect proportion with the rest. We shall come back.

The good: very efficient, accommodating service, the mojitos are actually amazing, happy hour on mojitos and caparinhas- between the price is reasonable. The bad: I was a bit disappointed by the food in general, having eaten at many Mexican restaurants in my time...I'm used to much bigger helpings. I was particularly disappointed with the nachos, we ordered the large size, it wasn't what I would call large, it was on a regular size dinner plate, the coloured nachos were cool, but it didn't really come with much, a spoonful of refried beans, two jalapeños and that really artificial looking yellow American cheese that comes out of a squeeze bottle..... seriously? It sounded much better on the...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
