"The food here was really top quality. I ordered a veggie breakfast as pictured. The hash browns had bits of chive in which really added an extra dimension of flavour whilst the sourdough bread had a lovely crunch to it. Every component was cooked to perfection, however I believe the portion sizes could be slightly larger when ordering a breakfast I imagined more than one sausage. This being said, I have no complaints about the quality of the food or the service. The waiting staff were very friendly and it was a comfortable and relaxed environment. I would return despite the portions."

Elm Rose was pretty good. I don’t think they’re offering anything too outstanding, but it’s a place I’d happily pop in, next time I’m passing

I found this lovely little café on route to a yoga class on a sunny Saturday morning, desperate for some caffeine and a minimal breakfast which would

The cooked breakfast was amazing - it had a great taste and portion size. The pancakes were tasty, but the portion size was quite small and not good value for money. Overall, it is a great cafe. View menu

Such a lovely and cosy place to enjoy your breakfasts. Not like most cafés, it was already open at 8AMy which we really appreciated as we tend to get up early. The full Scottish breakfast was a delight. Everything was just perfect.

We had a lovely and tranquil breakfast at this restaurant. We ordered two vegetarian breakfasts and two black coffees. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was quick and all the staff members were very pleasant and accommodating.

This cafe is an excellent choice for a coffee and pastry, or a hearty sit-down breakfast to start your day of sightseeing off right. I highly recommend the fruit scone and almond croissant - both were absolutely delicious! The Scottish Salmon with Poached Eggs on Avocado Toast also received high praise. View menu

today I fell at one of the most beautiful places in edinburgh. the elm rose is a charming little diner with a small team of very nice fishing in the window to keep outside diners. her Mexican package was also very delicious, although I was occasionally bombarded with small bags spicy hot taste throughout the entire experience without warning, although I am not the best with spicy food. a nice quick bite when you go through, and beautiful koleslawin.

Today I dropped by one of the punniest places in Edinburgh. The Elm Rose is a charming little diner with a small team of very pretty fish in the window to keep outside diners company. Their Mexican wrap was quite delicious as well, though I was occasionally bombarded with small pockets of spicy hot flavour throughout the experience without warning, though I'm not the best at spicy food. Tremendous value, as the whole meal came to less than a fiver which is exactly what I was after. A nice quick bite if you're passing through, and lovely coleslaw.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
