"Equis restaurant in the Hamilton area used to be a fantastic and affordable option for fish and chips, as well as ice cream. However, it has sadly gone downhill over time. The food has become extremely greasy to the point where it is inedible, and it seems like they are using the cheapest ingredients available. Additionally, the ice cream now seems to be made with more air to increase volume rather than focusing on quality. It's disappointing to see a place that used to have such a good reputation deteriorate like this. Overall, Equis is no longer special and I wouldn't hurry to return."

I am giving this 2 stars as at keast the food was warm. Probably the worse fish supper I have ever had. That much grease that i couldnt take it out the box. Even the box was swimming.

We love a drive to Equis on Saturdays, the fish and chips is great and not too greasy. The ice cream is amazing and I love all the flavour options! But I find it is quite overpriced ice cream shouldn’t be that expensive!

The worst haggis I've had in 60 years - bland and stodgy. Couldn't eat it. I gave a couple of friends a try and one couldn't believe it was being sold as haggis. The other said it was the most revolting thing she's ever tried from a restaurant.

Had food delivered. It was late arriving, cold and missing several items. Fish supper- no chips. When we phoned them they weren’t interested , said it was just eats problem and if we wanted the missing items we would have to go and pick them up. We’ve been long standing customers but never again

I recently ordered take-out from a chip shop that I had tried before and enjoyed. Unfortunately, this time the food was not good. It was bland, very greasy, and almost all of it was left uneaten because it was so unappetizing. Maybe it was just a bad night, but the quality was disappointing and I will not be returning.

Soggy batter that was far larger than the actual fish itself. Fish seemed really thin compared to the usual size. Server forgot to hand over our cans of juice pack them at the counter, so we had driven 5miles and got home before we realised there was no juice. Couldn’t get through on the telephone to tell them there was no juice. Poor.

It had been years since we had visited Equis, but we were at chatelherault, and decided to visit again. We had memories of Equis being of a really good standard. Sadly, what we got was nothing of the sort. We should have known as soon as we entered, to be honest, as it smelled of grease. We got fish suppers, and the fish was so greasy it was stomach-churning. Never again. Change of ownership, perhaps?..

My partner ordered from just eat and made the mistake of pressing delivery instead of pick up ,There was no address to deliver to so staff could see mistake right away ,When my partner went in and explained her mistake the woman serving was ignorant and just rude and wouldn’t give her order and said you need to get it from driver we ended up cancelling order and went somewhere else and won’t be back .Went to awarding winning chippy Coatbridge instead hence the reason they win awards (the Service
