"Not so lucky if you're hungry. After waiting almost an hour after our booked lunch slot, the food was ok. When I complained to the waiter after our meal about the delay, apparently it was our fault for not ordering starters as tables with starters are priority. And I was supposed to psychically know the hake was an additional 25 mins. Suggest management invests in better organising staff capacity and bookings, and some staff training. In response to the owner's response. We most certainly were not told in advance that there would be a wait, for other tables or for the hake , and the waiter did indeed say that tables with starters were prioritised. So correct your staff, not me."

The haggis pakora is a must-try if it's on the specials board. As a wheelchair user, I accessed the restaurant through a side entrance and had a variety of seating options at my table. The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic!

Went today for Mother's Day. Was given a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival. Staff were all lovely and very efficient. We had citrus pesto linguine with salmon, haddock chips then tablet cheesecake with ice cream and iced chocolate parfait with raspberry sauce. Whole meal was delicious. Will definitely be back.

The name says it all!! The food here is amazingly delicious and the service is stellar. They had a party of 17 when we arrived and when we walked in the barkeep warned us that there were 3 children just in case that would bother us. We love kids so problem. The wine list was divine and the ambiance was comfy and lovely.

We had booked for a family Celebration and we had a wonderful day . Food was excellent , good portion size and very tasty. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and they allowed us to present our own cake with final Teas and Coffees. It wasn't just a lucky find we truly hit upon a hidden treasure . Wouldn't hesitate to travel the distance from Ayrshire to visit again .

I had a terrible experience tonight while celebrating a friend's birthday. I ordered the flat iron steak, which was recommended on the menu to be cooked rare, but it arrived very well done. I sent it back to the kitchen, but it took so long to be replaced that by the time it arrived, everyone at our table had already finished eating. This was incredibly disappointing, especially for such a special occasion. I wouldn't describe this as 'a lucky find' at all.

Second time at this hidden gem and all I have to say is that the standards remain extremely high. The beer battered haddock was fantastic, generous portion, quality of the fish the best I have ever seen and the batter was simply perfect. The chips were good. I also had the giant prawns saltee and the tomato sauce was absolutely gorgeous, full of taste. Desserts are equally superb. I tried the mojito cheesecake and it was great. Service is very friendly attentive. The background music is really pleasant, perfect volume sufficiently high to muffle conversations in the room but not too high that it would disturb conversation at the table. Will be coming back.
