Freihaus Brenner Am Tegernsee

We've been told it's a wonderful place, but what we feel that's more than wonderful!, really, nice view of the lake from the top, delicious food, smiley service.

Have dined many times at this glorious place high on a hill overlooking the Tegernsee. I am rewarded each time I return. The generous and friendly staff makes sure that your meal is very special. The food, decor, wine and other beverages are first rate.

You have to make a reservation to get a table here on a weekend. After a short forest drive you find this hidden gem up on a hillside. What wonderful food!! Every detail, every possible creative composition, perfectly orchestrated to ensure your palat exploding with heavenly joy! Wow, what an experience...

Here there is a lush and very successful portion of crispy roasted peasant with blue herb and potato dumplings. My friend chooses the pork roast in white beers sauce with potato dumplings and herb salad. I try the latter several times, this one will remain the best in the region. I go here since nearly 20 years. Quality constant and always above average, but never brilliant. A lot of old fashioned dishes on the menu like Kalbshaxe and Forelle Blau.Very lovely view over the lake.Not suitable for socially insecure visitors. The typical customers are social upstarts with black Cayennes, and she wearing a LV bag, or shabby-looking old rich. View menu

This is a not-to-be-missed restaurant in the Tegernsee valley. Family run in a stunning location the restaurant has an ever-changing menu that features local game and produce in gourmet versions of Bavarian fare. Impeccable service by friendly, informed staff make it a delight to eat here. Any season of the year you get to eat marvelous food with mesmerizing views of the lake and mountains. It can be very busy at times so reservations are a good idea. It can seem expensive but this traveler finds it good value for a celebratory or romantic meal.

Freihaus Brenner is a truly wonderful experience. We are visiting on a regular basis, winter time as well as summer time.Never been disappointed is the least I can say. The quality is consistently excellent, the food well chosen according to the time of the year and when you get a nice table outside during the warmer months you have a breath taking view over lake Tegernsee. The staff is professional and always friendly.This place has class but also calmness around it and is suited for a dinner for two as well as a bigger gathering with friends or family.It is 100% Tegernsee.

There is no better place to have lunch on a sunny Fall day when the air is brisk, the view is gorgeous and the table is set on an outdoor patio overlooking the "Tegernsee". The Brenner offers the best from local butchers, fish from the nearby lake and vegetables from regional farmers. The food is delicious and tasty. The duck and as of October the goose are tender and juicy. The wine list is broad both, in terms of geographical and price, range. Service is efficient, reservation for indoor and outdoor seating is strongly recommended on weekends. Children have the opportunity to roam around on the neighboring meadows. View menu
