Gail's Bakery St Albans

The chocolate and almond croissant is out of this world you have to try it! Definitely will go back for this!

This is a victim of its own success. Arriving around 1:15 PM. for lunch to find our favoured choices to be 'sold out! ' Busy as usual on a Saturday. Slightly disappointing as a result!

Lovely food offering as per any Gail's! You can get delivery aswell. Shame its not bigger, I would avoid on a weekend as gets super busy and cramped and loud, if you are looking for a chilled place I would go elsewhere. View menu

we had a nice breakfast. the service was great. the only thing I don't understand is bratkartoffeln (the small pieces of kartoffeln) instead of hay brown. so stupid. hash browns is perfect for breakfast. that's good for the Sunday roast. before it was better, please put them back hate brown!

Without doubt the worst Gail's I have been to. Extremely long wait for very poor food. I wondered why all the other customers seemed to be ordering croissants and coffee only, but when the food arrived it was clear that the chef has no idea. Somebody from Gail's please visit and do some training.

The coffee and food at this restaurant were excellent. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the app to work, so we missed out on receiving our stamp. Another person also experienced the same issue. This has been a recurring problem for us. It would be helpful if the staff had the ability to manually give stamps to customers. View menu

I visited the coffee shop in St Albans on Wednesday ,but I will never go back because they don’t take cash.I think we should be given a choice ,not to be forced to pay by card.Therefore I cancelled my order though the hot chocolates were done by the time we decided what to have with the drinks. No complaints about the service or the products.

The vegan chocolate hazelnut muffin was beautiful, and the coffee and dark hot chocolate were delicious. I would appreciate more vegan options on the menu. The atmosphere was lovely, although the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed by the large number of customers, they still remained very friendly. We were just passing by, but we would definitely come back when we are in the area.

Unfortunately I cannot provide a no-star review, or better yet a minus-star review. This was, easily, the worst Gail's I have been to. We waited for a very long time for the food; the sandwich was burnt and the waitress was surprised when I mentioned it, I don't think she had even noticed! I wish I had ordered a croissant, it's what everyone else was having (clearly they knew something I didn't). Or better yet, I should have asked for a refund and gone to Nero's next door. If this was the first time I was visiting a Gail's, I would never ever venture into another one. I am certainly never returning to the one in St. Albans.
