"We stopped off half way on our walk to Roseberry Topping, we were greeted by a friendly cafe owner who was interested in where we were going and offered some useful advice about picking up a taxi in the area at the end of the day. There were two kinds of soup on offer which were both nice, I opted for the tomato and basil which was thick and very warming, I also tried the aptly named adventurers soup a vegetable broth with lentils which was very filling. To finish it had to be a cup of tea and cake but there was so much choice, it was difficult to make a decision, in the end I chose the coffee and walnut cake which was delicious. The day we went the road outside was being resurfaced and there was no access for cars which meant it wasn 't too busy but even so there was a steady stream of walkers and cyclists who clearly knew there was good food to be found at the Glebe Cottage cafe. I would highly recommend this cafe."

A delightful tearoom in a good location which attracts both walkers and cyclists. Good menu, good value, good food service a little slow

Excellent food and a friendly host make this a prefect stop over for a snack and drink. Good prices and homely cooking in a great countryside setting. Will return again.

Excellent view on a sunny day and food good and took 90 minutes yes 90 to get it. Kept being told it was coming and got no apology when at last it did. Beware when there is even a small queue for hot food on a sunny weekend here. View menu

Stopped in for a quick coffee, but it was anything but that. They were a little busy but taking 25 minutes to serve just a single coffee just isn't acceptable. And it wasn't hot when it arrived. They need to get themselves better organised. Still, I got to read the Sunday paper provided!

Such a great little cafe, a perfect stop on the Cleveland Way or if you are out cycling or walking in the area. A small but hearty menu which is vegetarian friendly. The homemade scones are excellent. The cafe boasts a selection of homemade cakes and there are also some vegan bake bars on the menu. Beautiful views, dog-friendly and lovely staff.

This was our first visit to the tea room with the new owners and we were very impressed. We stopped for lunch and enjoyed local bacon and free range eggs in a delicious sandwich made from locally baked bread. We enjoyed triple chocolate brownie and fruit scone with jam and clotted cream, all washed down with Yorkshire tea. A great spot and we will be back! View menu

Evidently under new management in Summer 2018, Tucked away in the village of Kildale, this cafe is an excellent stop-off for cyclists, Cleveland Way Walkers and can be incorporated as a food and drink source for walkers on many interesting routes in the surrounding area. Friendly service is assured and the food produce is freshly prepared, good quality and at a reasonable price.

Kildale is a delightful hamlet on the Esk valley trainline, close to Great Ayton in North Yorkshire National Park. There is free parking near to this café (station car park) and you can walk in several directions in the National Park. such as: Onto Captain Cooks Monument or onto Park Nab. The café is under the new ownership (July 2018) of a charming young man in his early 20's with a real passion for food. It is open 6 days a week (closed Thursday) from 9.30-4.30. So if you are partial to a cake and a coffee after your walk (or drive) of fancy a light lunch then I can recommend this little eatery. Enjoy

"We arrived here for a 2 night stay for a wedding (Fri sat night). PROS: Lynsey the manageress she 100% makes it so fabulous. Lovely, welcoming, looked after us brilliantly. Due to some staff shortages, she was doing what seemed like 10 jobs at once! We ate on one of the nights food was delicious! Great service tasty food. Breakfast was also spot on set us up brilliantly for the day ahead on the Saturday! The Willow room which we stayed in was fab ideal size, lovely cosy too! The whole 2 night stay was extremely reasonably priced the place itself has a great feel about it like a big cosy house! CONS: If you like total darkness, take an eye mask for sleeping as the rooms can get really bright from the early hours. Also, depending on the room, it’s on quite a busy road so can be quite nosy it would be worth having earplugs if you like a quiet surrounding. Due to staffing, the bar doesn’t stay open that late, so be mindful of this, they will however put drinks in your room if you can’t make it back in time for the bar closing. Taxis there are no local taxis, so arranging transport to the wedding we were attending was a nightmare which we didn’t account for! Luckily after 6 different phone calls, we managed to get sorted. The only gripe I had was the confusion over the bill if you decide to charge things to your room, the bills aren’t itemised so it’s difficult to keep track of what has been charged. There was some confusion on checkout over what we should shouldn’t have been charged for, so definitely choose to pay for any extras outright to avoid any confusion or uncertainty before check out. Other than that, it was one of the nicest, most personal stays we’ve had out in a long long time. This was mainly down to the Manageress Lynsey who is fabulous at her job really does make it feel like home makes you feel super welcomed relaxed. Thank you lynsey for really making a stay a one to remember."
