"We were a party of six enjoying dinner at the golden Phoenix. This restaurant is located in the Hotel Provocateur and, just as the name implies, the Interieur is kinda very over the top, lavish, velvet all other and rather dark. Service was welcoming and...friendly. As you can guess, prices are rather high. So when choosing our wine (wine list pricey with 2/3 of the bottles around 80€ or higher) I have been disappointed by the lack of guidance. In a Restaurant like this i would have expected a sommelier... anyway a few interesting wines weren’t even available anymore and the one we ordered, a Sancerre, was good but only had 3 bottles left. We ordered 6 starters to share, all of the good quality (prawns, beef tartare and beef buns were great) and 5 mains. Sea bass and beef tenderloin were nice, duck and Chinese pasta a little boring in taste. Portions are rather small. I guess it depends if you will return or not. The dishes are good, but not really interesting in taste. So I don’t know if I’d like to pay that much for it. Service was friendly but maybe a little more guidance when it comes to recommendations food/ wine wise would be good. The interior trying to be so fancy etc wasn’t really my cup of tea but as you know, about taste can’t be argued."
