"I have been to ghurka grill a few times now and it never disappoints. My first visit to ghurka grill I was served by a young gentleman Rana who provided exceptional service. Cannot fault him.Very professional and friendly . He was very attentive and gave me good recommendations from the menu on what to order . It is the best service I have received in my dining experience. On another day I met sid who provides the comedy entertainment and very friendly . Coming to the food I ordered a madras and pilau rice nan and chips and it was delicious . I have eaten out in a few restaurants in and around Manchester and this was very tasty and brimming with flavour. They cater specifically to how you want it so I like my food spicy and they did just that. I haven't been dissapointed eating here and will definitely come back and recommend to others. The ambience in the restaurant is cosy and romantic with a beautiful rose on the table, setting the mood . Definitely a hidden gem in west didsbury."

this is a fine Nepalese restaurant, with a much more imaginative menu than surrounding counterparts. when busy, the time between the curses 'expanded', but quality and taste are good to wait.

after numerous visits at gurkha grill I have many good things to say: good food, good service and the new layout is modern and welcoming. the only bad thing was that they now ask you to take a doggy bag of your food.

We had a great experience at this restaurant for my brother's birthday. He loves this place and I can see why - the food was really delicious, with good beer and wine options. Our waiter, Sid, was excellent. It was a great value for the money and I would definitely recommend it.

The food here is fantastic. Staff are always very inviting and attentive. The quality of their food, particularly the lamb surpasses the quality of much more expensive curry houses. We always take friends from out of town here for the excellent food! By far one of the best curry houses in Manchester

Very friendly and great food. The waiter helped me choose a dish suitable for me. The wine was reasonably priced and came with a little background explained by the attentive waiter. The food was delicious and well presented and prompt. The quantity was enough but I must admit I like to take home a doggy bag so more would be better. It was my third time and service has been consistent so far. I would recommend this place to friends.

The menu is fairly extensive so I ordered a couple of poppadoms for starters. Now Gurkha Grill's cuisine is Nepalese and although this generally means they serve Indian type fare they do have their own twist on things. Because of this the poppadoms were served with a pickle tray which consisted of a light yoghurt, a dry onion, pepper and coriander mix and the best dip was... I don't know what it was but it was lovely and it seemed to be a mango chutney which had been blended down to a honey like syrup.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
