"Gur Balti is a fantastic Indian restaurant located on Dundee Terrace. They consistently serve delicious food and provide great service at reasonable prices. I have dined here twice with friends and both times we left feeling completely satisfied with the overall experience. Gur Balti prides themselves on offering some of the best Indian cuisine in the city, with each dish being presented beautifully. Their menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of options. During my last visit, I tried the Balti Chicken Passanda, which was served promptly and had a creamy texture with a well-balanced range of flavors. The quality of the meat they use is evident in all of their dishes. Our bill came to no more than £15 per person, including drinks, rice, and tips. I look forward to returning to Gur Balti soon."

I had another wonderful meal at Guru last night! The prices are reasonable for delicious, fresh food. Just a reminder - one naan bread is plenty!

We had a fantastic evening at this restaurant. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, especially when catering for our group of 18 people. Highly recommended.

After travelling around India, this is my favourite Local Take away. Their tandoor oven tandoori dishes are so tasty , and curries full of flavour.. The Nan bread is the biggest I’ve ever seen. Highly recommended. : Marc

I ordered chicken bhuna and keema naan, but received butter chicken and plain naan instead. The food was decent, but it arrived very late and was not what I had requested. I was disappointed as I had wanted a dry curry, not butter chicken.

My flatmates and I have tried various Indian takeaways but we always seem to back to the Guru because their food is simply amazing. Balti as good as it gets. And the naan breads are giant. It may not be the cheapest place for a takeaway but totally worth every penny! I have not eaten in the restaurant so cannot comment on the service.

Regular customer, but got home and was a curry short. Phoned and no person thought I was Uber?? None of the regular management seemed to be available when asked to speak to them. Was told missing dish would be with me in half hour, that was an hour ago! Great place but second time missing curry has happened, time to look for a reliable curry house sadly!

The naan here is no joke. I had dinner by myself and the naan they brought out was the length of my forearm. The manager mentioned we made a special sized piece for you. Wait, did I get shorted? As a matter of fact, I did. The regular size is like a large pizza! I still had more than plenty. I had the madras chicken and some okra. I asked the manager to give me some guidance to get something spicy, but not hurt myself. He was very capable in giving that guidance. Dinner was fantastic. I punished myself by finishing all of it, nearly licking the bowl clean after I polished off the naan.

I have ordered takeout from this restaurant twice on different occasions and have enjoyed both meals. I ordered online for pickup and both times the service was excellent with friendly staff and prompt receipt of my food. I tried a chicken dish and a vegetarian dish, both of which were full of flavor (not too spicy, which I prefer) and came in generous portions. The naan bread, on the other hand, was huge! I had the Peshwari Naan both times and it was possibly the best part of the meal, especially since I had leftovers to enjoy with two more meals. Guru Balti also has a nice looking dine-in restaurant, although it was empty both times I went to pick up my takeout orders on weekday evenings.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
