"edwin is amazing! we had problems with google during booking and he was extremely helpful in correcting the problems and confusion. I did not get the name of the bartender and I wish I would do it. Black with dreads, he was sweet/child and funny. he makes great drinks! I'd sit back on the bar! aline (hoping i spelt that right) our server was so brilliant, friendly and wonderful with our two young. she is fast and efficient! speaks great English for which I was grateful. (updating, all the employees we met.) we were in almost every country we were, and this is definitely one of the top! I am sure back when we make it back to hamburg!"

Service was very accommodating. People (Fleischpatty's) were dry like the desert. Pommes was okay.

Food was good. Service was good, nice place and historic inside. The store a little small, but because of the control was not crowded.

the food was perfect as expected and the waiter funny and energetic (on a good wise) I would recommend this restaurant for foreigners as well as local and tourist in any case.

Our server was lovely (I can’t remember her name now but she was a petite blonde with short hair). Very polite and friendly. Food was very nice and almost finished (too much for some I found cocktails were more sour than sweet personally even ones I’d normally expect to be sweeter. Would visit again, please note a discount is available with the Hamburg Card.

I had a vegetarian burger and I must say it was good, but not something I would go back for. My fries were too salty. But portions are great. Apparently the Guiness burger is very good and the chicken mac n cheese. Our server was attentive and funny. We had a great time. As you have a super view over the harbour I will definitely return. Cocktail list is big enough for every taste something. And they got a nice outside terrace for summer time View menu

in the rule hamburger are less friendly than their partner in berlin, but they actually go out of their way to make later changes. as in hard rock cafe was the first choice of the table not convenient, but the waiters did not want to change until they were sure that the desired was open to all, even if there were already people eating there. but they came by later and allowed the table change so that everything is good. the shop assistant in the hard rock cafe store also allowed the last minute shopping despite the closing time. look at the elbe entertaining as always

Unfortunately, I frozen a bit; the spotlights on the window were cold. The setup was typical, the music was often good, but I would like more rock/metal and less Taylor Swift. It's great to be able to eat vegans there, but the card wasn't right. Offers that were clearly declared “also vegan available” were not available in vegan on request (e.g. onion rings). It would also be nice to get a vegan cheese substitute on the burger instead of simply leaving the cheese away so that the burger becomes vegan. The Pulled Pork from my partner was unfortunately dry, the shrimps are great and recommended.

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
