"The restaurant is small but fairly clean. However, we were disappointed to find other people's cups left on our table. The selection of vegan pastries is impressive, but they don't offer much for brunch. The bagel we ordered looked sad, mostly filled with leaves and avocado. My partner's avocado toast was overloaded with onions, not very enjoyable. I opted for two pastries, which were delicious. The place seemed a bit understocked, as they didn't have orange juice or San Pellegrino cans. I abstained from ordering a drink. My partner enjoyed their coffee, though."

My friend and I preordered a plain giant croissant £20) and it was huge. And super delicious! Very flaky and buttery and we ate the whole thing. The bakery was cute and the staff super friendly

The restaurant offers a variety of sandwiches and menu choices. It would be helpful if they could request larger tables to accommodate customers and update everything mentioned in the previous review from July 14, 2022.

I think the HappyCow description is out of date, there hasn’t been any raw desserts on display the handful of times I’ve been over the past few months. But they do otherwise have some of the best looking vegan pastries around.

Small cosy cafe, with possibly to eat inside. Their special croissants are so good! I had the pistachio croissants and a kebab bagel for brunch with a lavender latte. They have several plant milks. I totally recommend this place!

My go to place when I’m in need of a sweet treat and coffee. Staff are always super lovely and friendly. They put a great deal of effort into making amazing vegan pastries and they ARE amazing. Couldn’t recommend enough. Small place so I don’t always sit in but fab nonetheless.

The vegan yogurt was unavailable, so they were unable to make the granola with a non-vegan Greek yogurt in a completely vegan cafe. Instead, I tried the vegan pastrami bagel and a pistachio croissant, both of which were delicious. I also enjoyed the beetroot latte and chai latte that I ordered.

Visited yesterday for Brunch after an early morning flight into Edinburgh. A huge range of fully vegan pastries all with interesting flavours. I had a cheese twist pastry with bacon bits and also a lemon meringue cronut. We had a bagel as well which was delicious. Staff were also lovely and the coffee was great.

The pastries and brunch/lunch options at this restaurant are incredible, with a wide selection of hot drinks to choose from. While the prices are quite high, I view it as a special treat rather than a regular dining spot. Additionally, the lack of prices listed for the pastries can be frustrating. Despite these drawbacks, I would still highly recommend this place!

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
