"We were starving after our long morning of cancelled trains and a long tour of Pompeii. We chose to exit through the new city gates and the owner invited us in. We had such a lovely late lunch, with gracious and courteous attention of all staff. Do yourself a favour and come here if you're hungry and tired after a long Pompeii day Dietary restrictions: I'm gluten free and had the grilled mixed seafood and grilled vegetables Service: Dine in"

Invited by the owner in front of the restaurant. The food was satisfying. Slightly expensive though.

Nothing out of this world and very expensive. Tap water and all glasses oily and with remains from customers who used them previously. Price per person: €30–40 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Absolutely recommended place near the excavations. Nice little restaurant, very good dishes (the pasta, potatoes and provola cheese are exceptional! and the owner is very nice and kind. Average prices, above average quality for a decidedly non-touristy place Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The optimal service, small portions and the repeated request for actual bread Without actual feedback....and at the time of payment they fully exploited their ability to turn money honestly, having said that, an experience not to be repeated ...small portions Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €10–20 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

"This dining experience was utterly ruined by the appalling service. Admittedly we did not book in advance so we had a table outside, right at the end of the row. However we gladly accepted this. We then had bread and water delivered to the table. We then had to ask for menus, then ask for drinks before waiting a further 35 minutes before anyone came to take our order. The wine list was 34 pages on an iPad plonked in front of us! We ordered a bottle of Rose and a glass of red wine, which arrived in about 10 minutes. The wine was opened with due ceremony, including sniffing the wine cork) and poured into three of our glasses. Despite having purchased the bottle it was taken away by the waiter. My wife then pursued the waiter into the restaurant to inform him we had purchased the bottle so could we please have it back at the table. Food arrived, which to be fair was good. I asked for another glass of red wine 10 minutes later it hadn’t arrived so we asked again. Another 10 minutes, it still hadn’t arrived. When it did I had finished my meal, so I sent it away. The whole episode was largely down to the incompetence of a new member of staff, but nevertheless one has to question the level of training this person has received and how well they are supervised. This restaurant purports to be more upmarket and towards the fine dining end of things it needs to ensure its staff are of equally high quality!"
