"Top Marks!. Kam Tong has been here forever but I heard it had recently been taken over by new management this year so was curious to see how it fared in comparison to its previous incarnation and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. We arrived early on a Saturday and there was already a small queue waiting for the doors to open. Once inside, the place is much brighter and although plainer, had some nice details. We were quickly seated and given menus. We ordered a selection of dim sum and a couple of other dishes. I would highly recommend the dim sum which all turned up hot and tasty. The prawn dumplings were succulent and the pastry skins nice and thin. The pork puffs were flaky...read more"

Tried a variety of dimsums well it was ok nothing bad to write about but nothing wow either. The Head Server could definitely smile a bit more because the service seems very tired ...

Satisfied. Once again, my friends were craving for Chinese food during our visit in London. We got into Kam Tong a minute before they closed at All dishes were tasty and flavorful but they were all a bit too oily. I just did not agree with their GBP for a small bowl of rice. Servers were nice.

I love came to death. it is one of my 2 favorites on this street filled with a surfeit Asian restaurants. her dim-sum menu on the afternoon is large, comprehensive and very tasty. they even offer a part of their dim menu later in the evening to dinner. I recommend the pumpkin shaped roasted knödeln and the pork ribs with fermented black beans are excellent. they also have sweet dimming sum, which are a beautiful wise to finish their meal. from her main menu I am most excited about her chicken tom-yum soup. most Tom-Yum soup have shrimps/prawns in their camp. since then I am allergic, I had to try with bad ones this super-tasteful suppe at...read more View menu

Far away from the overwhelmingly busy and touristy Chinatown in Leicester Square lies London's second Chinatown in Bayswater where to food is just as good (if not better) and better value for money. If not for its location, this would be my London haunt for Chinese given that quality of food in the area but alas, life is not always fair. On the odd days though when I do find myself in the area, there is one place above all which I can't seem to pass up and that place is Kam Tong Located less than mins walk from the tube on Queensway, Kam Tong is headed by Head Chef Chris Kwan, a veteran of the restaurant game with over years experience , most notably Zen Mayfair and...read more

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
