"La Lanchetta enjoys a privileged location on the main highway leading out of Lugano to Castagnola, close to the Lido di Lugano and the small port and marina at Cassarate on the north shore of the lake.It combines a number of elements, lounge bar, restaurant and pinsa so we weren't too sure what to expect when our group of five plus baby walked in off the street with the pram.We now know that pinsa is a highly refined and upmarket version of pizza. Apparently, it's made from a soft wheat flour to a traditional recipe that dates back to Ancient Rome and is served as a long oval and not round like pizza. Since one of our group was until recently an executive of a UK pizza chain, we learned that this recipe is known to Brits but usually marketed as luxury pizza.Four of us chose one of the many pinsa varieties on offer, including our vegetarian who stayed faithful to her preferred Margherita style. I went for a combination of ham and brie which was full of flavour. All of us were delighted with our choices and so was my wife who opted for roast octopus from the restaurant menu.Service was attentive and friendly and I was more than happy to respond to the maitre d's parting request for a mention on Tripadvisor. I can see that they have not scored consistently well in the past but on this occasion they were just great. We washed down the pinse and the octopus with a bottle of Pinot Grigio which the waiter managed masterfully to eke out through the entire meal: a nice change from the usual hustle to sell another bottle!Overall good value for money by Swiss standards."

La Lanchetta has the best lake view in Lugano, the service is excellent and the Pinsa which is one of their main dishes is really authentic, a great place for Sunday lunch.

I often go to the lanchetta, I really like the view of the lake (in the evening it is very relaxing,) the service is good and the dishes too. Try the pinsa because they really do it great.

one of the few restaurants of lugano with a terrace on the lake. young and noisy customers come to eat a pinsa or drink a spritz. pinesa and very good pasta. friendly but overflowed service. nice evening except for the tympans. View menu

the place on the outside and inside is well maintained and in the evening offers a beautiful atmosphere overlooking the lake. the service is good and the costs are in line with the city, some tables are a little tight and offer no views. to try!

I spent a after dinner at this place. beautiful design, refined and original furnishings. awesome and pleasant atmosphere. courteous staff. a little in contrast to the general setting of the neighborhood, which is quite anonymous. but definitely a nice place for an evening.

Everbody talks about this place so I checked it out with my family. We asked to be seated outside, but we couldn’t. Ok. Then a table got free, I asked if we could go and they refused. It is because I am with kids? No...idea. The waiter gives us the menu and drink menu, kids excited to eat, but after waiting to order, they tell us we cannot eat yet because kitchen is closed. Ok but then why give us menu? We took a drink, which came with nice appetizers, but will not come back, although the view is nice. View menu

I frequent quite often this place, both for lunch, dinner and aperitif, located in a really suggestive location overlooking the lake of lugano. the panorama, especially in the summer period is really charming and relaxing. The service is of good quality and quite refined. very qualified and available the room manager. There are also some evenings with live music (usually on Wednesdays,) and the musical background is always present in the other days. The local specialty is the pinsa at the cutting board. the wine card is very well assorted. Only a little negative is the price that is sincerely a bit high even if the location deserves, but probably the reason is to keep the room a little exclu...

We went for dinner at this restaurant, which was meters from our hotel. Lovely place, big veranda overseeing the lake, really nice. Menu is ok, some special things but o.k. intially we had to wait far too long for our drinks, clearly overwhelmed staff....The burger was rare, the vongole had some shells but now taste, really a pitty. Desert was already better and because the rough start we had our coffee and Contreau on the house. Well done to the owner, not the typical reaction that we were tourist and would never return. So we went back for lunch two days later and the food was great, days special, paste with truffel and parmasan fondu, really good, service even better, and a welcome back b...

"Me and my husband chose this restaurant to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. We came all the way from USA and I can tell you this place didn't disappoint us. Very nice location, close to the lake and easy to find. We started our 5 course chef's tasting menu from appetizers by chef. It was mix of cheeses in different variations deep fried, cream cheese, cheese truffle and refreshing gazpacho soup. 1.Our first tasting dish were amberjack ceviche with fresh mint, peach and lemon sauce. It was absolutely delightful. 2.Then we had poached egg in creamy pea puree and shaved with Belèer Knolle cheese. It was also one of my favorite dishes because it was so creamy and egg was a great addition to this dish. Also there were Bona crumbles sweet to balance the pea puree. 3. Next Paccheridi Gragnano halves with oriental veal ragout. unfortunately this pasta wasn't my favorite. It was too al dente and I am not used to such a thick uncooked pasta. We ask waiter and he confirmed that's the way it should be. Also too much peanuts overwhelmed the sauce and it felt you are eating sneakers. But I absolutely loved veal ragout sauce, it was rich with flavors and very nicely done. 4.Then our next dish was Red Mediterranean tuna with charcoal, teriyaki mayonnaise, cucumber and puffed rice with seaweed. It was the best cooked tuna that I ever tried. It was so tender and melting on my tongue. 5. Next was perfectly cooked Duck with cherries. I absolutely loved duck, it was cooked to perfection!!! 6. Pre dessert strawberry basil puree to refresh tasting buds and prepare for the dessert. 7. Vanilla cheesecake with apricot and carrot sorbet with prune compote. 8. And complementary truffle selection from Chef to congratulate us with our anniversary. Absolutely best anniversary meal. I also loved that service here was very open and nice. It was my first Michelin star experience and I didn't felt any snobbism, like in other restaurants in Milan for example. Nice presentation, and all dishes were properly described in English for us which is additional plus since my husband doesn't speak Italian. Absolutely worth the trip!"
