"I actually wanted to, from old experience, not eat there but the sheen on the burg had too and we only had limited time because we wanted to play the burgfest. but what can be done wrong at spaghetti aglio e olio. far missed. conclusion: everything! 2 x ordered that be a teller as he should be, apart from the dosenpepperoni, the other teller with darker coloring of the sauce. the waiter asked how that can be, you see the difference clearly, took the teller into the kitchen, came back without a teller and says: "cook says that must be like that". aha, I guess there were several question marks in my face. 3 minutes later he came back with my teller, set him before me, it looked almost exactly like that, and repeated the statement from the chef and left. when looking at the teller then the fact that the dark sud was visibly simply spilled over the teller edge. who will like this will be royally satisfied here. They never see me again. no matter how great the location is and how fast, within 5 minutes at fully occupied places, you get to eat."

Located in the city center. Busy on sunny days. We had a pizza and pasta überbacken. Both were good. Friendly staff and good ambience.

dine on the historic market place in mayen. bit great view of the lower market with the old rathaus, on the other side the mighty genowevaburg. in the summer unbeatable. delicious food (noodle, pizza, fish, meat, salad) at cheap price and good staff.

For some years the PIAZZA is a known reataurant in Mayen. The food is good, the staff is friendly. You can (during the summer time) sit on the outside, right in the vibrant market place of Mayen and enjoy life. They also have ice cream...for...the kids.

An evening in Mayen and this time it's Italian. The atmosphere was pleasant, sitting out in the Market Square and lots of locals dining alongside. The food was good, simply presented and served by pleasant staff. Our lack of German language skills was not an...issue here and we enjoyed our evening.

I've known this la piazza forever. eating was really always good. unfortunately, the service leaves to be desired gradually. you sometimes have the feeling to be annoying. if you would come to the table more often, we would have had more last time. you sit very nicely on the mayener marketplace with great view.

we were there for dinner, 3 families, with table reservation (also necessary because well visited!). very nice service, hospitable. eating came fast and was very tasty - most of us had ordered pizza :-) the location is totally cheap and restaurant was almost only visited by natives - that speaks for themselves!

the location of the local is super. but that was it. operation unfriendly and muffled. also eating was not intoxicating. the noodles were partly softly cooked and then again very, very al dente. also the sose was in our opinion after a reproached finish. the bottom of the pizza tasted good, but it was still covered. that was oily and badly seasoned. we can't recommend this locally, but maybe we just had a bad day when you read the other reviews.

"This place is right at the main market square, in view of the castle. If it looks crowded, there's lots of space in the back, yet you won't get to see the environs from there. The place was relatively busy, and almost every table looked...like it was occupied by groups of friends, or by couples, all in the age range. Obviously this is a very coarse approximation, but you get the idea: apparently it's not damaging to your streed cred to be seen here. Service was rather rapid and friendly, even though the place was bustling. I require a gluten free diet for medical reasons, and fortunately the menu had clearly labeled allergy information, so there was no problem detecting which dishes were gluten free and which weren't. There weren't many gluten free options straight from the menu, but one of them was just what I wanted, so I didn't bother asking whether I could request changes to other dishes. There were many local dishes, by which I mean that many ingredients were specified as being from the direct vicinity of Mayen and it's surrounding villages. Normally, if you think about German cuisine, you might think about thick sauce and inelegant chunks of meat here, though, there were also choices that involved stacks of grilled vegetables, and other possibly more healthy options. Food was quite good, and not expensive at all. I checked the cheap eats box, but this was in no way a budget eatery. They just didn't ask for much money. In all, I can recommend this place if you're in Mayen. Not the best or most excuisite restaurant in the world, but definitely satisfactory, with good food."
