Family owned and operated, beautiful venue, delicious food and kind people! We came late for lunch, yet they fed us anyway. Loved it. Un plato de embutidos españoles y queso manchego. Fantástica.

good dishes at good prices in a privileged place. There was very good homemade gazpacho, we also asked for pysto and lubine. and dessert the torrija. It's our second visit, and if we get back to the area it won't be the last one.

What a fabulous find….terrace eating in the oldest part of pueblo de sanabria. A warm, balmy evening, sitting outside and local food that was well cooked and delicious. What more could you want. Not many places here speak english, but we got by and having the menu translated was helpful. All in all a lovely experience View menu

We stopped for the night at Puebla de Sanabria on our way to Santiago and were very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The second floor dining room with stone walls, tile floors and beam ceilings is surprisingly bright and airy. The service was prompt and friendly without being intrusive, and the food delicious. Unless staying here, it is a bit out of the way but well worth the effort. Illuminated at night, the square is magical. A highlight of our recent Spanish adventures.

We went to dinner. The We found the food regular, especially because for the price —33 euros per person— there are many better options in town (right across the street, in the Inn of the masses). The starters—jerky and scrambled—were good, although the egg was a bit bland. The seconds were what we liked the least: the Roe deer was tasteless and the beef stew well below what is expected in a restaurant. Desserts —ice cream and curd— well, within the normal range. The restaurant sits at the top if the hill next to the castle and offers a marvellous view. The food is local and very specific to not only Spain but is particularly focused on local products from Sanabria itself. The restaurant as a geat daily menu which is very cheap €14) The 2 local dishes that particularly impressed ,and surprised, us were the local broadbean starter Habones) and the oxtail rabo). The second is not normally a dish I look for but here it is simply marvellous....try it, just trust me. The mains were great too the Secreto was excellent . They also offer a kids meal which filled up our six year old and that is worth a star in itself. View menu
