"My son took 4 of us to Bistro Pierres Derby, the day after Mother's day, for a treat for me, my husband and his fiancée. I love this restaurant, it has been our go to place for years and holds many happy memories. We have...never had cause to complain about anything at all previously. Sadly, on this occasion, the meal and the experience in general, did not meet our expectations and we were all extremely disappointed. I contacted the resteraunt, the next day, purely to express my concern that standards appeared to have slipped and to give feedback, hoping that I would be listened to and my concerns acknowledged. I was not disappointed! The Manager, not only contacted me almost immediately, following receipt of my email, but wanted to know exactly what had concerned us and how they could compensate us and put things right. I made it clear that compensation was not why I had made contact but merely wanted to feedback my concerns about the meal and the experience in general. Ashley was absolutely brilliant, he accepted my feedback and suggestions and I was more than happy with his professional response. My son has since received a full refund, but it was the contact and care for us as valued customers that has bowled me over. I can only say that this response, to what I am hoping is a mere blip' in otherwise brilliant food and service at Pierres Derby, was above and beyond what I expected. I have already booked a return visit and hope to remain a loyal customer."

The venue is lovely, the staff are friendly, welcoming professional. We were a party of 8, seated upstairs were very well looked after. Unfortunately we felt the food let the venue down, in particular the lamb which had little taste. The desserts were...not the delicious sweet hit hoped for they were all underwhelming and seemed commercially made. There was nothing particularly wrong with the food, but not one of us had that wow' moment when eating any course.

had a nice meal as usual, but getting on our bill, I noticed that they had charged my wife 0.95p for her gluten-free brot where as my normal brot was free. it is not the cost that the problem is, but are charged for a...insurance / intolerance the manager was apologetic, but has done nothing else than to say that is the company rules what will be tomorrow: a fee for £1 for a large print menu because they have only one eye, or like a fee for £2 for wheelchair users if they have to move a chair. how about a fee of £5 for everyone with a nut intolerance. come they pierre totro, do the right and stop them to punish people with intolerances. check their bills and complain.

I had root plants tagine that was a few slices of butternut quash, some cubes of jazz then only cricket and swirl in a fat tomato sauce. I would expect there to be more root vegetables! my man had the tart that was almost gummy....He mentioned it to the waitress, showed her some of the tart and asked if it should be. she said she would ask the cook, but she didn't mention anything about him for the rest of the evening. I ordered a chocolate brew for dessert, which was served without chocolate sauce, as it is listed on the menu. since it was served without the sauce, was very dry. we didn't want to complain for the second time, we just decided not to go back. I am aware that if we have said s...

I’ve been to Bistro Pierre multiple times and never been disappointed always had a good experience! But tonight I was gutted, we got there and my girlfriend had been looking forward to a chicken dish on the menu all day, and when we arrived at...6 they had ran out, don’t worry I get it, these things happen, it’s a Monday also so it can happen and we understand that, anyway we decided to have steak frites each, the fries were bland the steak was bland the sauce was bland… maybe it was just an off day for them because I’ve been before and bragged about this place and how good it is, but yeah just left feeling very underwhelmed, everything including the presentation was off, I’m always very hes...

"My friend and I wanted somewhere different to go for some late lunch and so we decided on the Cosy Club. Although my friend had been once before a while back, it was my very first time visiting. As you walk in, you're greeted with an almost vintage-y feel and it's great! Old paintings upon the wall and retro furniture too, but that's not all. Ascending the stairs to the top, we got to the first bit of the club which is the bar area and what a fab area it is too, to relax and enjoy and Beveridge or two. Further down is where the restaurant is located and a lovely restaurant it is too. Very ornate with a fancy oldy-worldy vibe, almost like stepping back in time. The decor and glass chandeliers make for a very luxurious, almost palatial feel. The staff were really friendly and showed us to a table where after a short time of waiting, we had water poured for us before choosing what we'd like to eat and drink. I decided to go for the dirty chicken burger and I'm glad I did. The portion size was great, and there was plenty going on in the burger; the flavours were tantalising! Everything was cooked really well and tasted good (oh and the berry cider they have is certainly worth a try! After spending time enjoying our meal, we paid for the bill and were able to make our way, with our drinks, to the bar area to take a sit and enjoy the vibe further. I would certainly recommend the Cosy Club to anyone looking for something different, with a cool vibe and great food. Thank you to the staff for a pleasant and enjoyable visit, will certainly be returning! :"
