"When we booked out trip to Collioure we logged onto TripAdvisor and checked out the local restaurants. Le Neptune was one that really caught our eye and we were looking forward to visiting during our stay. There were 6 in our party and when we first arrived we were shown into the dining room. This was an almost completely glass room that was incredibly hot. There were blinds down so we couldn't really see out and although the door was open and one of 3 fans running it was like sitting in a green house. Incredibly hot. When we asked for the fans to be switched on or the air conditioning to be activated we were told that they had to wait for the sun to drop behind the castle and that there was nothing they could do about nature. It was not until around 8:30 that they opened the roof an lifted the blinds. Now why they couldn't have opened the roof earlier I don't know. If they can't open the roof whilst the blinds are down then they need a new roof!!! Once the roof was opened however the temperature dropped and the views of Collioure were revealed and it really was most pleasant. Just a pity that it was so uncomfortable for the first hour. The 2 children with us had the child's menu and I have to say they are the best kids meals I've ever tasted. One had Cod fillet and pasta and the other had veal and crushed potatoes. Both were superb. The veal especially was melt in the mouth and stunning for a child's meal. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the rest of the dishes. We all ate from the Gourmet menu which was a fixed menu for 39 Euros. I had the Tuna for a starter which was incredibly bland. There was simply not enough seasoning. It looked nice though. I had the Pork for the main which was essentially a large pork chop. It was topped with a mini pepper stuffed with mashed potatoes and garlic and accompanied with a red pepper and chorizo sauce. The stuffed pepper was delicious, as was the sauce, but the pork was tough and tasteless. My dessert was L'Entremet Catalan which was probably the best of the desserts. All the dishes ordered by my family told a similar tale. They were 'OK' but lacked seasoning and just whilst they looked great they just didn't provide the flavour you'd expect. My wife, for example, ordered 'La Pomme' for dessert. It looked incredible but tasted of plain whipped cream. Very disappointing. The service was OK. I liked our waiter but others didn't. The best service came from a younger lady who I believe was training. She was friendly, chatty and a credit to the restaurant. The whole experience at Le Neptune was unfortunately rather forgettable. There is nothing wrong with it but it's just not very special."

More beautiful spot on the bay of Collioure. Very nice service. Very nice atmosphere to accompany a cuisine of quality products. I recommend.

Excellent market menu in an exceptional setting and stunning views of Collioure, its bell tower and the sea. Excellent and respectful service.

I'm not going to go into detail about all the small things that were wrong with La Neptune, save to say that in isolation each one may seem manageable. But when you add them all up, they conspire to reduce this great opportunity for an amazing dinner in a most beautiful spot, into a disappointing, lacklustre, grumpy experience. Maybe we were unlucky. View menu

I have been going to collioure for over twenty years and have ate at this restaurant many times, and it has been extremely good.Four of us went last night, the food is now average and service is terrible. I complained before the deserts had arrived. This is only time I have ever walked out of a restaurant. We had been told it was not as good by our friends.

Had high expectations of this restaurant as it came highly recommended. My dining companions were happy enough with their meals. I had veal, which was tough as old boots and looked like an inexpensive cut of beef. I complained and the response from the waiter was a very disinterested shrug of the shoulders. I really don't think it was veal it was a red meat and correct me if I'm wrong but veal ,in my experience, is pale in colour. I would not return.

This was our first meal in Collioure, and it did not disappoint. We got there very early by French standards, and were the first people seated. We had a lovely view, and the food was excellent. I had a fois gras to start with green apples & fresh apple juice - the acidity and sweetness of the apple complimented the fois gras phenomenally. For my main course I had grilled turbot over cuttlefish ink pasta, and it was exceptional. But be aware, if this is a first date, your mouth will turn black - so you know it's real cuttlefish ink! We're not really dessert people and I honestly don't remember what we ate, but we were quite happy with our meal and the wine suggestions were great. Would defini... View menu

We came here to end our week in Collioure on a high note - and they certainly delivered. The restaurant is situated overlooking the bay and castle, and catches the full brilliance of the setting sun, making it a great place to sit and eat in the evening. The food was all perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and extremely tasty! A particular highlight was the mushroom and truffle mousse - it almost evaporated in the mouth, leaving just the flavours dancing on the tongue. The service at times was a bit tardy, but were all lovely and polite and certainly didn't ruin the evening. We knew it was going to be pricey, but it was worth it. All in all we had a lovely time here, and would very mu...

We went here for the lunch menu. A 3 course menu at reasonable price. We enjoyed all the great dishes - see the pictures. Service was swift and accurate. Also they were able to accomodate a different desert outside the set menu for my daughter. The only thing were i think we may have had a slight misunderstanding was whether the lamb was 'a point' or 'rosé'. My wife wanted red/pink which is medium, or, in our understanding, 'a point'. When the lamb arrived it was rather well done. The taste was still great and it was really tender. We therefore decided not to send it back - as we were ourselves not completely sure what 'a point' meant, until we looked it up afterwards. The lamb is definitely...
