"we have lined the ramparts market as it was very crowded and continued our walk around the corner and up, as we were on the road for st giles, when maison bleue caught our eye advertisement a two-course lunch for £14.50, which seemed to be good for the elegant place it was. in fact we found ourselves in a palast of glass and napery- strangely the only diner around 1 o'clock on a working Wednesday. there were many tourists that the windows with silver foil packages from the hog roast a few doors away, but no use the beautiful indoor and delicious foods. the waiter was friendly and brought us ice water, broth and an excellent tasteful olive oil dive. we chose a suppe and a Haggis balls (battered and deep fried and served with a neeps and Tatties sauce), then went on a han tagine and a pan-fried meeres bass. a glass of red wine and a coffee completed our meal and the bill was under £50 exceptional. the toilets are a bit of a walk to the top of the building, but this is not a big problem."

This restaurant is very cozy and the food is delicious. However, I would not recommend ordering the fancy macaroni and cheese.

Delicious food and friendly staff! Great atmosphere and music. Only downside I could think of was that the toilets weren't the best and were too close to the kitchen but you don't go to a restaurant for that, do you!!

Beautiful interior and nice food. I had lunch here and the lunch menu is good and VERY reasonable priced. It wasn't the best lunch I had but for the price was ok. The restaurant became pretty busy and staff didn't seem coping too well so if you're in hurry I wouldn't recommend it. However maybe was a one off.

It was perfect when we visited this restaurant for dinner at lunchtime. The atmosphere was excellent, the service was great, and the food was delicious. The lunch menu had a wide variety of choices and was amazing. Booking a table online made the process very easy. I honestly couldn't find any faults with this place. Superb experience.

If you are after an eclectic take on French cuisine, try Maison Bleu. Edinburgh has some fantastic French restaurants so each has to have that something special in order to stand out. Here, it is location, decor and must importantly a delicious fusion with Moroccan cuisine. My fish with puy lentils was hearty unlike your average fish dish) and had a lovely depth of flavour. My husband's lamb dish was very very rich and a tad too salty. So rich that he struggled to finish it despite if being very tasty. We gave some feedback to the waitress but given it was so busy, we were just told that it was noted but not really offered an apology or an offer of something else. Not a biggie tbh. It was a... In the United Kingdom, there is a misconception that the food is not great, but this is not always the case. There are small places like this one that offer good food at a reasonable price. This restaurant on Victory Street caught our eye with its unique Scottish, French, and Moroccan influenced menu. The prices were reasonable and the interior was cozy, with wooden decor and tables adorned with candles and thistle flowers. We enjoyed the menu of the day, with delicious dishes like coq au vin and stew with Arab flavors. The dessert was a delightful end to our meal. If you happen to come across this restaurant, be sure to check out the menu displayed outside as it often has good deals, includ...

Earlier in the year I went to the relaunch of Maison Bleue and wrote a mini review. Five months later, I have finally had time to go back and try the bedouin feast they offer and write a proper, full review. The feast must be booked at least 24 hours in advance as the meat is slow cooked. We were welcomed by friendly staff and offered a seat whilst we waited for our table to be prepared (as we had arrived a little early). We were offered drinks and a short while later we were taken to our table, on the first floor of the restaurant. The restaurant still had a great feel about it, even without the PR buzz. Our table looked out onto Victoria Street, which was a nice bonus. We were offered the...
