"Visited with my daughter for my birthday. Lovely little place, friendly with a nice atmosphere. Decided not to have a starter as we could see the portion sizes in front of other diners! I had the Lyme Bay Scallops served with roasted veg and new potatoes whilst my daughter chose the lasagne served with chips and a salad. Food was plentiful, delicious and reasonably priced. We were advised by locals to go back to try the Sunday roast! Would recommend and visit again."

My friend and I popped in for some food after watching the football in Yeovil. And this place certainly cheered us up!

Strange little place and to my mind struggling with its identity i.e. is it a pub, wine bar or restaurant. Having endured a visit I'm still not sure....

Popped in for a drink while staying in a nearby campsite. Dog friendly and people friendly. Well priced decent wine and a great atmosphere. We’d love to come back xx

I believe from listening to the locals calling her, the name of this young lady is Alex. Rude is not the word and certainly not looking after the owners bar as she should and does not want to take bookings over the phone and I witnessed her giving drinks away to locals.

I visited on a Weds eve with family friends. Although a little quiet the owner/chef provided some entertainment with pancakes for all diners (very nice they were as well). The food was excellent value and the portions might actually satisfy my teenage son. Overall an enjoyable evening and as good as previous visits.

Crewkerne is very fortunate to have such a great place. Either sitting indoors or outside the atmosphere is great in this place. Drinks are reasonable and what I saw of the food it looked very nice. We witnessed a family thorughly enjoying the food. Will have to go back to sample it ourselves. Prices very reasonable what I saw on the menu.

"Our first visit to The George Inn at Donyatt, we've drove by it time's going to other places and it always looks such a nice place. We decided to have lunchtime meal there to celebrate our anniversary and weren't disappointed, beamed ceilings, log burner and brick fireplace, farm tools and pictures on the walls cosy and oldie worldy with friendly locals just how we like our pubs. The staff and owner were really friendly, polite and chatted to us as if we locals from the village, the waitresses were smartly dressed, polite attentive always smiling, cheerful, charming and chatty. Even the chef nodded and smiled to us the couple of times he walked through and the bar and table areas were spotlessly clean. Our meals starters and mains were absolutely fantastic and amazing as was the presentation, they were hot good amounts of food with tender succulent meats and vegetables and the mashed potatoes were creamy smooth and light and have never had better. There's a good selection of beers and I had local ale which was amazing, clear, cool with a nice head and tasted like nectar. We will definitely be coming back soon and we can definitely recommend this pub, restaurant and hotel to family, friends, neighbours and anyone. A very big well done and thank you to the owners, all the staff especially the chef, please please please keep this pub the way it is, it's an absolute treasure and gem of a place to find. YOU ALL MADE OUR ANNIVERSARY VERY SPECIAL Especially in these times when a majority of local village pubs are closing down and being turned into houses or flats, we must all support our local village pubs like The George Inn."
