"A very special restaurant with a fabulous view over Trafalgar Square and way beyond. A great menu with vegetation choices. A good wine list, but the bottles start just under £30.00. I made a mistake (and so did others) of leaving my coat and umbrella in the downstairs cloakroom, which closes before the upstairs (floor three), restaurant! I was told my coat and umbrella would be bought up to the restaurant cloakroom later but sadly this did not happen and it was a bit of a farce trying to retrieve my items at the end of the night! It is a little tricky to find floor three where the restaurant is situated. Basically enter through the main entrance, go up the stairs to the first level, walk all the way to the back of the room and you will see lifts at the end that will take you up to the restaurant. Definitely worth the trip but book first as this place gets busy."

The restaurant offers a stunning view, but the real highlight is the delicious food. Nestled on top of the national portrait gallery, which is also a must-visit destination, this hidden gem is not to be missed. View menu

We received a warm welcome and were able to sit wherever we liked. The lower level was overly busy, crowded, and loud for diners. However, the upper level was more relaxed, an attractive place with friendly and efficient service. We are excited for our next visit.

Portrait Gallery, you can enjoy panoramic views of Trafalgar Square and beyond while dining on delicious food. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the overall experience was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in London.

the lookout here is amazing. so an additional supplement. the restaurant was lively and our waiter made us feel very appreciated. I had the celeriac suppe, the tasty followed by beet root risotto, just as beautiful. the others had a standard Sunday roast lunch lunch and said it was great. the desserts looked fabulous and tasted so good. can't really fail. we're coming back. The view at this restaurant is stunning. It's a great added bonus. The atmosphere was lively and our waiter made us feel very welcomed. I had the Celeriac soup, which was delicious, followed by the Beetroot Risotto, which was equally as delicious. The rest of my group had a traditional Sunday lunch and they also thought it was excellent. The desserts looked amazing and tasted even better. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be returning.

Having taken the River boat to Docklands and visited both the National Gallery and the NPG, we were ready for tea. I was keen to take daughter and her friend visiting from Boston to a special place and I remembered how great the view is...over the National's rooftops and how the light fading as London lights up gives this restaurant an extra dimension. The young ladies were so fascinated to have a better view of Nelson across the skyline. Delicious delicate sandwiches and tiny macaroons and delicacies all served on one of those three-tier plates. My sister and I had one in our dollhouse but never actually to use at home so remains a special treat!
