"I speak all of 5 German words, but that didn't stop me from having a nice lunch. If you know the basics of Greek food, you can guess at many of the dishes. In the end, I just looked around at other tables and pointed to something tasty. I had a plate full of meat and rice, and a side salad. Complete with a coke, it came to 10€. An unbelievably good deal. The meal also came with complimentary ouzo, which I did drink despite my dislike of licorice (when in Rome, right?). I was also given a really nice rose liquor following lunch as I indicated that ouzo was not my thing when offered a second shot. Waitstaff was genial and despite our language barrier, we had a few laughs."

Early lunch on a visit to Donauwörth. Great find, inexpensive, huge portions and great service. Highly recommended located in the centre of town

The food was absolutely fantastic and the portions were very generous. The service was excellent and the staff did their best to help with the translation as there were no English menus. Highly recommend.

Lamm shank tender and tasty. Moussaka also tasty and good portion size. Tomato soup tasty but contains barley which was not a problem for my sister but would have been a problem if ordered by my gluten free wife. Service and atmosphere good. Would definately come again.

The food wasn’t that bad but for example the gyros has very little sauce. The suvlaki was a small portion, felt hungry after. Unhygienic place, no light in the staircase, no hand dryer or soap, the owner was smoking inside. My friend felt sick after eating here. Don’t recommend.

Beautiful atmosphere. There was no menu in English, but we still got exactly what we wanted. My husband substituted french fries for the rice on his gyros plate and was not charged extra! Portion sizes were generous. My husband and I shared an entree and a starter and were quite satisfied. Would definitely go again.

I have been coming to this restaurant since moving to Donauwörth in 2013. I can still highly recommend this restaurant. My visitors have come to expect at least one visit here during their stay. And still never disappointed. Birthdays, xmas.... Any celebration. !!! Or just because .... I don 't need a reason to come here. I hope for many, many more visits to come..

Taramasalada was ordered as a first course but had no taste of fish roe (Aldi version much better) and was served with main course on a plate by itself nothing to eat it with eg bread. I admit the menu warned it had colouring. The fish on the fish plate also very bland. Baby calamari was good. Side salads in a Greek restaurant are expected to be at least a little like a Greek salad but no, just one piece of tomato and cucumber but no olives feta red pepper etc.

"We had just arrived in Donauworth and dropped our luggage at hotel. We set out to find a restaurant to relax and rejuvenate after long day. We were surprised to find most restaurants were closed at such an early hour, but saw that Grill Roma...was open, so we took a chance. There were only a few diners in the restaurant. We found a corner table by the window overlooking the river and the walking trail. Our waiter came from behind the bar and welcomed us with a smile. We ordered Dunkles Biers and began perusing the menus. Being in Germany, we were somewhat surprised to find an Italian restaurant with many selections that we enjoy. When our bier arrived, we ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and Scaloppine al Marsala. The food was a bit slow in arriving because the restaurant became very busy. The owner returned to check on us and was disappointed that we had not received our food. So he rushed to the kitchen and returned. The food was outstanding. My wife commented that this was the best spaghetti carbonara she had eaten. My scallopine al Marsala was very tender and the wine and mushroom sauce was perfection. We relished our dinner and enjoyed just talking. Time passed and most customers departed. As things started to settle, the owner came back to talk with us. I casually asked what an Italian was doing so far north. He was absolutely delightful as he told us about marrying a lady from Donauworth and working for his father-in-law. He finally bought the restaurant and changed it to include Italian food. Also, he said he had taken over the building next door and was remodeling it to be a hotel and restaurant to serve the guests. He was so excited and told us to come back and stay for awhile. HIGHLY RECOMMEND......"
