"I had a birthday voucher for afternoon tea which needed using, but as I don't eat cakes, biscuits etc. I phoned to ask if it would be possible to arrange replacements and the helpful lady I spoke to said she'd organise it with her chef. When we got there it was yet another rainy summer day which was a pity as there is a large beer garden area at the back, which would be lovely on a sunny day. The indoor area was quiet which we weren't surprised at on a rainy week day. The afternoon tea platter was delicious, it had some hot food such as mini quiche, chicken goujons, plus freshly made sandwiches, scones with jam cream cakes for hubby and portions of lovely fresh fruit. We both enjoyed the tasty food and would return here to eat in future."

Came here on a wednesday night and Joe served us. He was very attentive and speedy and abided to all social distancing. An asset to the pub in every single way.

This charming pub offers a great selection of beers, good music, and a friendly staff. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a pint.

Came in on a busy evening and were delighted to find staff who were both friendly and helpful, from those working in the door to those checking the garden. A real treat.

The drinks are a bit pricey, with a small glass of wine costing around £4. However, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is tasty. The only issue I had was...

Decent pub in Wigan, but I had a pizza for 10 quid, I do not exagerate when I say it was probably the worst I have had, burnt and pretty tasteless. Not recommended and definitely not worth 10 quid.

This is my first visit since the restaurant reopened and they have really upgraded the decor, but I found the space to be a bit cramped. They have now started serving food, but I have not yet had the chance to try it.

Food was overcooked and inedible. The only positive was I got a refund straight away after sending food back. Table service was poor, pile of wet knives and forks just left on the table. Poor service and won't be back.

Went for a nice afternoon, had drinks and ordered food. Food came, cheese burger and fries and peri peri burger and fries. Luckily my partner cut into the chicken burger first and it was raw!! Crap food here, cheap and nasty.

Pre booked a table for 11 6 weeks ago and paid a deposit ,arriving there on time the table wasn’t set ,poor service food was inedible the sprout and stuffing balls could have been used as golf balls parsnips was burnt and covered in grease ,everyone was given the wrong main some got 2 and others got none . What a shambles 2 hours in still no sign of desserts nor the tables cleared.wet cutlery in a pile on the table . Needless to say we got up and left and went to another restaurant for dessert. Will not be returning .

"After reading the reviews we was really looking forward to eating here ,however it turned out to be the worst tapas and worst service we have ever received . After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order we then waited a further 30 mins to be served with what can only be described as toast with tasteless mushed up tomatoes on , this was inedible and hardly touched , a further 20 minutes on and we was served a single dish of chicken between two of us again this was very bland and resembled nothing like a original tapas dish more like a chicken korma again this was hardly touched . When I enquired as to where the rest of the food was I was told they was very busy . With this we decided to cut our loses and asked for the bill . Before leaving we tried to have a conversation with the manager who is also the chef to give some honest feedback ,however he wasn’t open to listening , he’s response was “it’s normal in a tapas restaurant to receive one dish at a time between two with a large gap between dishes wasn’t it explained to you that’s what tapas is “We felt this was a very patronising remark as we eat tapas on a regular basis and know this is definitely not the case . To matters worse there was people who came in after us with multiple plates and tucking in nicely to their meals . The manager who was obviously struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night should have just apologised and admitted our order had been overlooked . If you are looking for authentic Tapas with excellent service in Wigan go to Casa Carlos this place doesn’t deserve your hard earned money ."
