Fantastic food mostly. Minute steaks not great but everything else was blow your mind fantastic!! Great service and lovely environment.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while using an app and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were fantastic. Don't pass by this place without giving it a try - you'll regret it!

GIANT portions! And the cutest sweet little waitress! She was so accommodating and joking around with us. This is just around the corner for me and I never noticed it was actually a South African restaurant. Nice decor! I took the Surf and Turf starter thinking to save some space for dessert, but with the chips added I was more than full. My friends had ribs and burgers which were HUGE and super tasty. You definitely get your money's worth! This was a real surprise and somewhere we will go back for sure!

This restaurant in Dalry offers excellent South African-inspired cuisine. The portions of meat are huge and the service is friendly. The steaks looked incredible, with one man at a nearby table having a t-bone that resembled something out of a cartoon. I opted for the Soweto Mess burger, a sloppy and delicious burger with BBQ brisket, pickles, and more, served on wooden boards. The menu also includes chicken wings, ribs, traditional stews, and more, although I did not pay much attention to the vegetarian options. The wine list is decent, there is a small selection of bottled beers, and the coffee is okay. Overall, it was a pretty good dining experience.

I lived around the corner from Shebeen for absolutely ages, and only tried its offering a week before I moved house. Of course, after finally eating there, I had to return for one more feed before the big move. Twice in one week! The food here is South African-inspired and be warned, the plates of food are enormous on both the tastiness front and the portion sizing. I had the boerwurst the first visit, which was an enormous sausagey hot dog type affair I only just managed to polish off. Second visit I enjoyed some seriously amazing chicken wings. today i came to shebeen with 5 friends. firstly, food is good ,we all love it but i dont think they have a equal service for each customers. some of my friends took selfies during the whole meals.Although i think these girls seems crazy taking selfies , the waiter in the reastruant keep looking at us with an strange eyesight for a long time ,whispering and imitating i have been to almost all the restaurants,the service is very bad. what the customer did is their thing , you can point out friendly or do something else but what they did i think it is extremely rude ! in the end . they charged us for extre 10percent service fee with handwriting in the bills we always give the tips even many peo...

Popped in for my birthday meal here recently as I had been eying Shebeen on Lothian road for some time, but the stairs put me off as some of my family members would not be able to get up the stairs in the Morrison Street venue. The Dalry Road restaurant is on the ground floor however. The decor/ambience was great African influenced decor/music, open windows letting some breeze through and the sun was belting through the windows. Excellent environment to enjoy some SA food. This place is BEYOND amazing. I 'm a bit late in reviewing, but I figured better late than never! We came here for my birthday dinner, and we decided THAT NIGHT that we 'll be returning for the hubby 's in a couple of months! First off--I have no idea what other reviewers are talking about in regards to the waitstaff--they were beyond sweet to us!
