"Recommended by the people we hired our canal boat from though they had never been there! Brilliant traditional country pub in the middle of Govilon about a third of a mile down a steep hill from the canal moorings. Lunch was a nice relaxed affair...and our waitress knew her beers and made excellent suggestions as to which to have. The snacks and light lunches were tasty and well-presented and inexpensive. We returned for dinner to find a livley pub with friendly locals and staff and really good, honest, fairly priced food. Well worth returning to."

Staying locally for a week, we decided to check out the local pub for grub, called ahead to book a table, boy, were we surprised, we felt welcome, comfortable and enjoyed an excellent meal, so much so we went back every other night. Great Pub,...Great Food and Great Value. Thank You.

Stopped here for lunch on narrow boat holiday. Great customer service and we felt safe and valued. Super food and beer well kept. Shame that business pressures and covid effect means that pub can’t be open every lunchtime. You need to check times and days....It is worth the visit and highly recommended. View menu

We had a lovely family Sunday roast lunch today. The food was amazing, three types of meat, four veg, Yorkshire puddings with roast and mashed potatoes, served on hot plates with jugs of gravy. The service was very good and we are looking forward to...visiting again when the pub is allowed to open inside. We moved to the village recently and we’re so pleased to find a brilliant local pub.
