"We dined at the resturaunt 1559, on the first day of our post Engagement Celebration weekend, at Sprowston Manor. Set within the manor with nice views of the grounds, the ambience seems suitable for smart casual or formal occasions. For dinner, each night we were served primarily, by a really nice waitress Emelie and a waiter, Mauro, from Italy, who allowed us to practice our Italian. The service from the staff, was excellent as was the food and the prices seemed reasonable too. We also had breakfast here, where they offer a really good range of fruits, particularly grapes.. my favourite, a small selection of cereals, plus a hot buffet. I had an omelette each morning, where chefs Bantun made a very tasty omlette on Sunday and Darryl a perfect white veggie omelette on Monday morning. Both making the effort to include items not on the counter. One of the breakfast staff Kelly, was extremely welcoming, friendly and very accommodating, ensuring we were seated in a good location each morning and had everything we required for breakfast. Despite several requests, nothing seemed a problem for Kelly. Perfect service with a genuine smile, from the moment we arrived until we left. With such good service and food, we would definitely recommend this resturaunt and return, when visiting Norwich again."

I visited sprowston manor over the weekend and was so impressed with my evening dining experience. I enjoyed 3 courses and every one of those courses was absolutely gorgeous. The waiter who looked after me and my family was so attentive and professional and I couldn't possibly have found any faults with my experience!

I visited yesterday evening . If u want to dress up and dine this would be the ideal place . I tried scallop as started and cod as main meal .Wonderful food . For some reason serving took time we were there fro 19.15 to 2200. My in laws didn't enjoy the desert since the sauce was strong but I thoroughly enjoyed it . As a goodwill gesture they removed the service charge . For 4 adult and a kid , including the drink it cost £164.

My Family I had the misfortune to sample the lamb at a Wedding Breakfast at Sprowston Manor in August. It was suppose to be medium rare but was almost uncooked with a rubbery texture. As it was totally inedible we sent back the meal and asked for the lamb to be cooked well done but after a 20 minute wait it came back just as uncooked. By this time the plates were being cleared up for the sweets so we just went hungry. When my wife spoke to the Wedding co-ordinator she just said they 'had words ' with the chef. I have NEVER in my life encountered such poor service and rubbish food. View menu

We ordered a bottle of Marlborough Riesling which was delicious. We ordered the slow cooked Feathered Blade Steak and the Norfolk Pork Belly and Cheek. Both meals were fantastic. We then ordered desert to be delivered to our room. We had the chocolate Orange Fondant with vanilla bean ice cream and a cream brûlée. Again both were scrumptious. The service in the restaurant was perfect until the end of our meal when we wanted to leave to go to our room and it took nearly 30 minutes to get the bill....actually I gave up and went back to our room and left my husband to deal with it. Disappointing. I will review the accommodation after our stay.

We arrived and waited to be seated, unfortunately there wasn't anyone available to help. After a quite a few minutes one of our party went to the bar to ask when a lady arrived and said she would show us to our table. A while later we were told that we had been seated at the wrong table and had to move. We were then told the food available was a Carvery only. Pointed in the direction of the food and left to get on with it. We decided to skip starter and go straight to main course. the carvery was hot and tasty but nothing special. The service was minimal. Plates cleared we mDe our way back to the dessert area. Choosing apple crumble found the custard jug was empty, this took quite a few minu...

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
