Walk ins for lunch. Delicious food, difficult to decide what to have as all sounded tasty. Service prompt and child friendly. Provided an activity pack for toddler and cutlery. Great decor and ambience. A shame we don't live closer!

I stopped by this place twice while driving to Southampton and I'm glad I did! The food is delicious, well-sourced, and expertly prepared. I also noticed they offer accommodations, which is a nice touch. The restaurant has a bit of an upscale vibe, and I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

What can I say except wow? This hotel is absolutely stunning, especially for Newbury. The rooms are designed to make you feel like you're indulging in luxury, complete with thoughtful touches like coffee machines and lavender pillow spray. Charming old coach inn! The staff were fantastic, and the beds were comfortable! We had dinner here, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The place has a quaint ambiance, and the town is wonderfully quiet—truly a slice of the English countryside. The room was smaller than we’re used to, but it was lovely, very clean, and the beds and pillows were great. We felt very welcomed during our stay.

I have been in Newbury for 20+ years and the first time I have visited this establishment and wow was I impressed from the minute I walked in the service was top notch and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb along with the wine selection. Definitely a place to take someone special for that feel good factor. Our table was attended by Shaun who explained everything in fine detail and was good for a giggle along the way

We had brunch here for my brother’s wedding venue. They have their own parking. Really lovely venue, high ceiling, very cosy. Really pleasant place, they also have an outdoor seating. Service was EXCELLENT! We had a 3 course set meal. I had the duck liver pate’ for my starter Burger for my mains and chocolate fondant for dessert. Excellent experience this weekend. Staff were incredible kind, helpful and great service without it being too over the top; perfect balance. Room was beautiful. Honestly the quality of the accomodation is something we would have expected from a price tag three times the price we paid for this weekend! Spotless. Food was excellent too great breakfast options and they have vegan friendly options (and great cocktails for dinner! We will definitely be back.

I have rarely had such a good time at a pub. Excellent!! The service was so good. From the first point of contact staff was very friendly and service oriented. It’s really rare to come to a restaurant and have people chat to you in such an easy, joyful and welcoming manner. Then the food: most of the menu is made up of familiar pub food dishes (burger, fish n chips, risotto, a curry). But each dish has something that makes it stand out as different (bone marrow fat peas, a beetroot piccalilli, or pickled mango). Clearly the chefs make an effort to combine fun, original flavours with familiar favourites. It’s a winning combination.

Went here to celebrate a couple of friends birthdays and had a very mixed evening. It was a Monday night so it was quiet and we were one of only a handful of tables. We were a party of four and there were no tables any larger than ours in that evening. We were seated quickly and that was about the one and only thing that happened all night with any kind of urgency. Our orders were taken and we were waiting 20 minutes or more for our first round of drinks.
