The Black Horse - Menu

Always have a superb meal when we visit The Black Horse. Our grandchildren can be really difficult to please but they have never failed to eat every meal.

We planned on having a pizza and a pint, but chef had to return home to Italy. So, we rolled with the pasta and wow were we surprised. Great meal for 3 and a few drinks for £50 on a Saturday night.

Called in without pre booking. Very professional and friendly staff. Excellent meal belly pork and steak ale pie. Bit different menu which is refreshing. Would be happy to recommend the food and hosts here. View menu

Went out for Sunday lunch. Never been here before. Not local but decided to try after reading reviews. Not disappointed.Staff welcoming and informative. Food was excellent. Very reasonable priced for a family of 4. All in agreement would go here again.

Absolutely 10/10! Me and my family have been going for about a year now and it is some of the best food and service we've had at restaurants. The servers are very friendly and polite, they have many affordable food options and lots of offers such as on Tuesdays you can get a pizza and a drink for 10 pounds (per person) which is a great price to dine out with family and friends especially during these stressful times. We will 100% keep going back!

Returned to this village pub restaurant to sample their menu after a change of chef. No longer an Italian restaurant though they still offer good pizzas and some pasta dishes prepared by their Italian sous chef. The new chef has extended the menu to include more bistro type dishes. The belly pork and beef cheeks were delicious. Service and atmosphere continue to be exemplary. Lovely to sit in their curtained gazebos or pergolas on a sunny Summer evening. View menu

Exceptional quality food beautifully presented. I started with the ham hock terrine which was full of flavor and came with a apple chutney also made here. My with had the prawns which were well prepared and cooked to perfection. I then had the slow cooked pork belly two pieces that don't look enormous but heck do they fill you and melt in the mouth. My wife had the hake again beautifully cooked. Only two little grumbles the chips which were well cooked had a little too much salt on for my liking. And I was too full to fit in a sweet. We will return. Oh and the beer was good and service very pleasant.

If I could give no stars I would, highly recommended apartly for the food.... disgusting!!! Got the sea food plater when it came the fish was off I had to spit my prawn out in my napkin. When I sent it back the staff where stood at the bar talking about the fact I sent my food back. I then ordered an alternative which was pizza was also disgusting!!! Wasn't cooked properly when I picked it up all the cheese and toppings fell off and was all greasy, so I couldn't eat that either! when we went to pay the manager had a go and asked what was wrong with the meal and stated ive sold loads of those and not had an issue! So I'm a liar then am I !!! Will never go back here again! Awful food, awful pe...

Not sure what’s going on here… Has the chef gone on holiday? Left for good? This place came highly recommended by the hosts of the Airbnb we stayed at locally, and the five star Tripadvisor reviews speak for themselves. We were really looking forward to it. When most of the menu is given in Italian your expectations are set a bit beyond home cooked pub grub. But that’s exactly what we got. The steak was overcooked. As was the duck breast. The veg was undercooked. The thin and watery sauces were served in milk jugs. The potatoes reheated in the microwave. And these dishes were expensive… Desserts were okay. The setting wouldn’t get me returning either- a noisy village boozer with little effor... View menu
