"Charming and inviting village pub. We visited for a Sunday lunch with family, and the dining area was both comfortable and well-lit. There were three meat options for the Sunday roast, and we all opted for the beef. The meals looked freshly prepared and were served on hot plates. The portions were generous, featuring a substantial piece of meat accompanied by a large homemade Yorkshire pudding. Our plates included leeks, both mashed and roasted potatoes, and we ordered a side of gravy along with a separate dish of red cabbage, carrot and swede mash, and broccoli. It was more than enough for our table of five. The staff were friendly and attentive. Only our daughter had room for dessert, indulging in an ice cream sundae that looked absolutely delightful. I regret not taking a photo of our main course since we were too eager to dig in! Highly recommended, and we will definitely return."

after a beautiful walk the staff were very friendly and a good choice of drinks. the kitchen has been upgraded so could not taste eating, but there is a good choice of sitting outdoors and a playroom!

After visiting a few villages in search of a meal, we stopped by this lovely pub. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly, and the locals welcomed us with stories and local history. We enjoyed some excellent keg ale along with a few delicious meals at a reasonable price. Overall, we had a wonderful afternoon at the Black Horse.

The food took an hour to arrive, and they brought us the wrong order. While there is a children's menu, the restaurant isn't really designed for families; they lack child-friendly cutlery and cups. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming, as if it were more of a local hangout, which left us quite disappointed. Overall, I would rate the food a 3, the service a 2, and the atmosphere a 2.

We have been to this pub on many many occasions and always had fantastic service with fantastic real ales. The staff are so helpful and friendly and it is always a place we love to go to when we are caravanning in the area at several different caravan sites such as South Carolina farm and red house estate. We went here on the 14th of May 2022 at 3 pm, however sadly the pub was closed which was a big shame. There was no notice on either the back door or the front door to tell us of the opening times to enable us to come back a little bit later therefore sadly we had to choose another pub. We will definitely come here again if they are still open.

The food was absolutely fantastic, and the portions we received for the Sunday dinners we ordered were very generous. They even set aside our food from the children's menu during lunch, which saved us a lot of hassle. The play area was great, and the service was excellent. I ordered a drink for our youngest and stepped away to use the restroom. By the time I returned, they had brought my order out to the top of the beer garden. Many kids (mostly ours) had a blast playing football in the small goal, which kept them entertained for a solid hour. The only downside was that our daughter's large pink tennis ball went missing, which forced me to carry a grumpy 9-year-old on my shoulders for half a...
