"Our friends recommended this restaurant to us, and we are so glad we made the trip for lunch today! The food was absolutely fantastic, and the dishes were thoughtfully crafted with a lot of attention to detail in the menu. We opted for the à la carte menu, and every dish was perfectly executed and delicious. I highly recommend the black cheek starter and the brains dish. My partner had the mackerel with root vegetables and a flavorful cream sauce, followed by the chicken. We also ordered a side of cauliflower, which was the best I've ever tasted—creamy and cooked to perfection. We tried several other dishes, all of which were fabulous as well. The wine list was great, and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you for such a wonderful local find!"

The decor, service, food, and wine list are all outstanding. The prices are only slightly higher than what one might pay at a typical pub restaurant that claims to be upscale. I highly recommend this place.

Lovely lunch here at the weekend. The pub has been done up really nicely the old bar is cosy and characterful and the dining room is beautiful and airy. And the food was outstanding! Try the pork belly if they have it on the menu again! Can't wait to go back in the summer and enjoy the garden.

Discovered this gastro pub by chance as we were having a Sunday walk in the woods next to the pub. Great variety of starters, mains and desserts. Beautiful food presentations and great flavours along with a good selection of wines, all at a reasonable cost. My new favourite pub in the Reading area.
