"Very nice meal special was roast beef in yorkshire pudding very generous portions of meat and vegetables. Veggies menu a bit limited and veggie pancake was just veg in cheese sauce with a pancake on top. Atmosphere was good it was busy...and tables quite close together in bar if you're concerned about social distancing. Neighbouring diners said kids menu would have been available for teens pleased to hear there's not a restriction on this kids all have different appetites and adult meals a bit overfacing sometimes for small eaters. Overall a great place to eat but be hungry!"

we visited on Wednesday night and had booked a table grateful as he was busy. they can eat in the bar or in the restaurant. eating was excellent with a lot of choice and local products. the employees were busy, but very attentive and friendly. we will definitely visit again.

on Sunday evening at dinner I came with the lasagne and my mother had the trout. for perfection cooked, hot spided and a large selection of fresh vegetables. I thought it was a good value for money. the staff was very attentive and helpful. would definitely recommend...and hope again soon.

Not been since lockdown, and boy have we missed it. Food was to die for even better than before lockdown. How do they do that! Some of the best food we have ever tasted. Fillet of Pork, Lasagne, Chilli Con Carne, Quiche Cheese and Onion....All were so tasty and reasonably priced, as well as good portions, add to that some fine ales well kept. Friendly staff and a big menu.

came with my wife and another couple for lunch. A popular place in a lovely setting. A selection of session ales on draught. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. It all seemed fresher since our last visit in 2019 so I guess there may have been...some refurbishment. Food came quick enough and was good pub grub. Just one niggle steak and kidney pie is a pie. a stew with a dry bit of pastry on top (even if the stew is tasty) is not a pie.

A clean pub Good friendly service. The steak I ordered was cooked to my request served with a choice of chips or potatoes , veg or salad .. bearing in mind the pub was rather busy the wait time for food was no more than...15 minutes . The only criticism I would put forward is there was alot going off on the plate ie I don't think the meal I ordered needed potato salad as well as green salad and red cabbage slaw . But all in all the food was good . Would recommend, and if I was in the area again I would eat there again .

Booked after having an excellent meal when last visited the area. Slightly disappointed this time though. Went for the Barnsley chop, chips and veg. Chop was lovely, service was good but on our last visit the chips that came with the meal were fantastic home...made mouth watering chunky chips. Was really looking forward to the same but then ended up pretty disappointed when the ones served this time were the chuck in the fryer out of a packet frozen type. Just was expecting a little more for a meal that was priced at 17.50
