"Came here the second time and was disappointed. the burger charged t £10.95 was the thin frozen once out the packet. Firstly the burgers were well over cooked( literally so dry and burned) and than it's a hefty price for frozen. i sent them back and after a little discussion got some frozen burgers that were ok. They have tried to make good but this time it just wasn't good enough."

Excellent food well kept beer. We were made very welcome. The landlord and landlady move. on at the end of August. Replacements will have a hard act to follow!!

Just visited for the first time since under new management . Sunday lunch was very nice. Homemade Pumpkin soup, roast pork with proper crackling, crispy roasties and wine gravy. Sticky toffee pudding/ chocolate mousse to finish. We will be back. Good friendly service. Give it a go. A proper local pub.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
