"I honestly don’t know how anyone can fault the food, the customer service and the hospitality of this establishment! Myself, my partner and his brother visited The Duncombe arms today for a drink in the garden. Upon looking at the food menus we decided to order something to eat. The presentation and the standard of food that was brought out to us in the garden was by far the best We have tasted. My partners brother has paid £70 for lamb in London and it tastes nowhere near the quality of the lamb off the menu. What an absolute gem we have found. The staff were friendly and so welcoming. Will definitely be returning and also spreading the word to friends and family about our afternoon at The Duncombe arms! SUPERB!!!"

The refurbishment is lovely. Haven’t been here since the refurb and must say I am impressed. 2 4 1 Sunday lunch between 4-5.00 a bonus. Lovely beer garden for the dogs and shaded car park. Will certainly be a regular now!

The pub had a great atmosphere, And the staff couldn't have been more attentive and welcoming to everyone that walked through the door. All of the food that came out looked great and my meal was amazing. We will definitely be returning. Thank you

Delicious beer I had the Full Nelson, a locally produced brew, sweet, creamy and hoppy. I also had the burger which was excellent. Lots of chips! Very welcoming and friendly proprietor. Who went out of her way to accommodate me and my dog. Highly recommended!

Stopped here for a Friday lunch. Was busy but still plenty of room. Meals ranged from pub classics (burger, fish and chips) £14 to steaks at £24. There was a children's menu and small play area outside. The staff were lovely and welcoming. Nice pub to stop at. View menu

Came here on a Wednesday as they do an offer. 2 x 8oz steaks and a bottle of wine for £40. Steak was cooked perfectly. Couldn’t fault food. Paid extra for onion rings and sauce. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be returning, maybe next time for Sunday dinner…

Had a fantastic meal here at lunchtime the other day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All the food was brilliant, the whitebait portion was huge and the halloumi chips were delicious. I tried some of the burger and it was outstanding and I was told the halloumi burger my sister ate was very good too!! Already planning on returning soon!!!!

Came to the Duncombe Arms for a family birthday meal. So pleased we did. The food was amazing, best steak I've had in a long time. The chips were spot on. The roasts were superb. Meat and vegetables cooked just right with a wonderful home made Yorkshire pud to top it off. The waiting staff were fantastic and even came out and sang happy birthday when the cake was brought out. Highly recommended View menu

This is the second time I’ve eaten here both occasions we were served with excellent quality food. When the menu says ‘homemade’ it really is! Order it, next time you’re at this pub! Once again, we visited The Duncombe Arms (4th February 2023) and without fail we were rewarded with excellent home cooking in a pub! I ordered Steak Ale Pie with Mash Veg. (see picture) and my friend had Malabar Curry a glass each of Chardonnay. Highly recommended pub with friendly staff.

We had Sunday lunch here and it was exceptionally good. A warm welcome, swift service and the most delicious food. I had the Sunday roast which was cooked to perfection and a really generous serving, all seasonal and very fresh veg, tender beef and perfect roast potatoes. My children had the kids menu which has a good variety of options and was also delicious clean plates all round! The desserts were also all just as good and it really was a relaxing and well needed break from cooking at home. Thank you very much we will be back soon!

"I have never been to Indonesia, but have eaten in Indonesian restaurants in London, Amsterdam and Berlin. So far as I can judge, this is authentic Indonesian food, prepared with care and attention to detail by the Indonesian wife of the landlord. Indonesian cuisine is VERY different from Thai, Indian or Chinese, with which we have become familiar in Western Europe. It is full of flavour, but different flavours from those of the other Asian foods to which we are used. The three of us deliberately made different choices so that we could sample a wide range of dishes. Of the eight that we chose, we gave a unanimous and enthusiastic thumbs up to seven of them. Our starters were Satay Lilit (minced pork with coconut and herbs grilled on a skewer); Udang goreng tepung (prawns in a light tempura batter with coriander and chilli dip); and Gado Gado (blanched vegetables and bean sprouts with peanut sauce and tofu). The first two were both delicious, but we wouldn 't order the last of the three again. Our main courses were Babi Tinoranuk (sliced pork with chilli, lime and lemongrass); and Chicken Satay (with peanut sauce, pickled cucumber, soya sauce and hot chilli). Both voted as excellent. They all came with basmati rice. Our desserts were Es Sedoteng (palm fruit, jack fruit and cassava); Pisang Goreng (banana fritter in light batter with icing sugar and cinnamon); and Caramelised Banana (with ice cream). We all enjoyed all three. Between us, we sampled less than one-third of the 27 dishes on the menu, but enough to know that we 'd be delighted to come again and try some others. The seating area is 'intimate ', with just half a dozen tables adjacent to (but on a lower level than) the bar, so is a bit noisy with happy diners, but it has a friendly atmosphere, ideal for a pleasant evening out with friends. Currently, we understand that the Indonesian menu is available only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, and booking is definitely recommended. The Crown and Cushion is an atmospheric pub, out of the way along narrow country lanes, and provides a delightful new dining experience for northeast Bedfordshire/western Cambridgeshire/Huntingdon. Give it a try!"
