"We staggered in for tea and cake after a long hot walk in the New Forest. The friendly attentive staff member (who we later found out was the lovely joint owner) pointed out the best seat to get the benefit of the air conditioning which was very much appreciated. Quick service, Lovely home made cake selection and friendly efficient staff too. We didn't think the prices were too expensive considering it was Lyndhurst. We paid more in the National Trust tea rooms in Studland last week and they were cardboard beakers of tea!"

Discovered this place quite by accident when exploring Lyndhurst and looking for a late breakfast. Got a friendly welcome from kind and welcoming staff. The pancake dish was absolutely perfect and we have to come back for more!

The staff at this restaurant are wonderful, with a good understanding of gluten-free options. Despite being busy, they took the time to reassure us. They even have a separate fryer. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the New Forest.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! We opted for the gluten-free high tea and were impressed by the variety of gluten-free cake options, scones, and sandwiches. They even offer a vegan clotted cream for those who are dairy-free. We were grateful that they provided us with a box to take home the leftovers.

This is a lovely family run business with really friendly staff. we visited over the bank holiday weekend and was very busy. The food didn't take long to arrive considering this and the lady did pop over and say it wouldn't be too long. She also took the time to have a conversation with us despite being very busy. We returned the following day as we were so pleased with the food and service

This restaurant in the New Forest is a hidden gem! They are very knowledgeable about allergies and have clearly marked options for gluten-free and vegan dishes on their menus. Their gluten-free and dairy-free afternoon tea is delicious, and they even offer clotted cream for those with dairy restrictions. We have visited multiple times and always enjoyed our meals without any adverse reactions.

My grandfather passed away this morning and used to love his holidays in the new forest. We came to GWT this lunchtime and it was so comforting on a very sad day. Their vegan options are always amazing, but to be able to have a simple meal of vegan sausage roll, chips and beans was comforting in a way I cannot express. The friendly staff and wonderful service made such a difference. Vegans will know how difficult eating out in this part of the country can be.

"My Wife and I don't travel so well these days but decided to go a little further afield from our usual Highcliffe and Christchurch haunts we live in Mudeford. We went twice in point of fact. The first visit was the 21st June when My wife and I had a quiet Birthday celebration lunch prior to the Family celebration later in the day. It was excellent. We only had the Mains and despite it being busy and not having booked we were served promptly and cheerfully with a round of drinks. My Wife had Chicken Pie and I had Liver and Bacon. Both were excellent and my Wifes vegetables were freshly done. I don't have vegetables. We liked it so much we went back three days later to celebrate our youngest Daughters birthday and again had lunch before the Family celebration later in the day. The meal was as fabulous as three days prior. My Wife had a Chicken Roast, our Daughter had Beef Roast and I had an amazingly well filled Steak and Merlot Pie of the Week. As before the vegetables were freshly done. Unusually for us we also had puddings (Lemon Meringue, Bailey's Cheescake and Apple Tart with Custard. All were excellent. All washed down with Tea and a Latte the former being served in nicely twee Teapots. Total cost £80 for the three of us on the second visit. Worth every penny. All in all First Class and couldn't fault it. Disabled parking nicely located in the front with ample parking for those more mobile at the side and back. Just a note for History buffs. The main building was built in 1853 by John Harrison(? a Carpenter thus the name Carpenters Arms."
