The Hoops - Menu

We had a fantastic meal with our big family at Hoops restaurant. The food was delicious with incredibly generous portions. The service was fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. Thank you, Hoops!

I visited this restaurant with 9 friends for a meal. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It is a charming village pub with a wide variety of options on the menu and a full specials board. I would definitely recommend it.

This was the fourth time our group started from The Hoops this year and each time I've been more than pleased. Warm and friendly welcome received at this tradition village Pub. Interesting and varied menu every day with the result being excellent meals. A chance find having come off the main route to Cambridge. Our thanks to the Landlord and Landlady, possibly producing the delicious food, cannot wait to return.

The food at this restaurant is truly amazing, with quick service and piping hot dishes that are both delicious and flavorful. The scampi pieces are large and plentiful. The Hoops special Burger with Stilton was particularly impressive. I decided to try the sweet potato fries instead of the regular chips, and they were delicious. This was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last!

Two of our party ordered ploughman’s lunch (one cheddar and one Stilton), whereas others had baguettes. I have never seen such an amazing ploughman’s, it had so much. Salad, pork pie, boiled egg, pickled onions, gherkins, pickles, coleslaw, crisps, baguette, new potatoes and of course a generous slab of cheese. The sausage and onion baguette was pretty tasty too. Our 4 course Christmas dinner at The Hoops last night did not disappoint, in fact it exceeded our expectations (and we are regular customers! Starters of Duck Liver Cointreau Parfait and King Prawn Cocktail were followed by traditional Roast Turkey with all the trimmings finished off with Christmas Pudding and After Eight Cheesecake and warm Mince Pies if you could find room! The food and atmosphere were excellent, highly recommend.

Would have had 5 stars as the food is exceptional but we were bought the wrong pudding! We asked for lemon and white chocolate pavlova but was bought banana and toffee roulade and as a couple who don’t like to argue we asked if what we’d been given was right so it was taken back and the chef confirmed it was right, although we could see and taste the toffee and was made to feel like liars. We promptly left and paid (including our wrong puddings) and we won’t be going back. Shame.

The staff kindly helped us delay our meal by a week due to illness first of all. Once we did get there, it was so worth the wait. From starter to dessert, the meals were exceptional. Tasty and very generous portions. The turkey was buttery and melt in your mouth, the fillet of beef was the nicest ever according to my husband. I couldn’t manage my cheese board so they boxed it up for me to take home. We received excellent, attentive service all night and the pub had the fire going, the tree looked beautiful. It was just a really lovely evening out and we’ll definitely have Christmas dinner there over the holiday period in 2023 too. View menu
