We stayed at the Kings Arms Inn for a nearby wedding. The service was fantastic especially from the breakfast team (and the food was great). Room was pretty basic but served us well. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 5

The restaurant is reasonably priced, with friendly and helpful staff. It's located in a charming village, and there is free parking available. Overall, I would rate the rooms a 3, the service a 5, and the location a 4. The highlights of this hotel are its quiet atmosphere and great value.

"Just back from a 4 night stay in their Shepherd Hut. The hut itself, is very well presented. Fully loaded with everything you could possibly need. Tea/coffee, water, towels, toiletries, even dressing gowns! Under floor heating, a wood fired stove and oil radiator (should it get nippy). If I had one piece of feedback, it would be to leave the storage under the bench and bed free for guests to store bags etc. the small storage cupboard by the door is very compact. The other facilities (toilet/shower block) were very well maintained, clean and well stocked. The duck boards in the showers were a welcome touch to give a dry area post-shower. I had seem some reviews mention that the facilities are mixed gender. This wasn't an issue for us. The diving walls between toilet and shower cubicles go all the way to the floor and are very high. Lastly the pub and staff. The pub itself is your typical country pub. Mind your head! Always busy, but service was quick. The food is good, well priced and the menu varied enough. The included breakfast had various options, if you opt for the continental, you may want to cross a couple of things off as there's a lot on offer! Where I found they really excelled was the staff. Everyone is super friendly, and I mean everyone! Attentive, chatty and just generally a nice team. Even when we came back after a day of motorcycling in the pouring rain, they put our soggy kit in their boiler room to help dry it out a bit. Absolutely above and beyond stuff. All in all, excellent all round. Not a single complaint. I'd happily come back and thoroughly recommend a visit if you're considering it. Next time I'll try one of their rooms."

"Unfortunately not a great choice of beers. To eat, we ordered pork souvlaki and lamb chop as main courses 14 each). The pork was supposed to be marinated but came out pretty dry and tasteless. Not a big portion either (2 small-ish skewers). The tzatziki...was watery and hardly tasted of garlic. The salad was mainly limp iceberg lettuce with a watery yogurt dressing on pretty tasteless as well. The chips were good and the pitta was warm. But overall very bland and basic for the prices. The lamb chop was purely fatty and grizzly, there was hardly any proper meat on it. It had a very strong taste and seemed a very cheap cut. Vegetables served with the lamb were OK but again pretty cheap-tasting. Chopped-up, oily aubergine is a bit of an odd choice for a veg side dish, though. Service wasn't brilliant, either, we had to remind them twice to bring the tap water we had asked for with our other drinks. Nobody came and asked if we wanted any sauces (ketchup) or how or meal was, not even at the end when we paid. For those prices, I would have expected a relatively decent meal (not just made up of cheap ingredients) and half-way decent table service. The descriptions of the dishes on the specials board sound great and sophisticated, but unfortunately they don't live up to the hype. I only saw after our visit (on their Facebook page) that they are looking for a new chef. I wish I had known that before. I wouldn't go again, unfortunately. Ah yes, the table surface was sticky, too. No Covid measures in place whatsoever."
