"This large pub offers great food and is highly recommended. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We dined with 8 people, including 2 children and a dog, during lunchtime. The bar staff were particularly helpful with everything from dividing the bill to serving drinks. The food was fantastic and perfectly cooked, thanks to the talented kitchen staff. Our meals all arrived at the same time, hot and full of flavor. The pub also has a huge beer garden that is well-maintained, with pigs and chickens kept at a distance from the dining area. Dogs are welcome in all areas, and you can even enjoy a drink at the bar with your furry friend! I would definitely recommend a visit to this pub for a meal or simply a drink. The staff are great and the atmosphere is welcoming."

beautiful pub. fire up. looks like it has a huge beer garden for the summer. only one star dropped because of a very loud, pompous customer in the bar

This garden pub truly embodies the essence of its genre! It is ideal for a relaxing get-together with friends or a family afternoon. The newly renovated garden terrace boasts a stunning view. The Sunday dinner we enjoyed was the best we've had in a while. The food was simple yet expertly prepared. I personally tried the house special – the hand-crafted pig – and it was absolutely delicious!

My spouse and I went to the Kings Arms for our wedding anniversary dinner. The food was delicious, especially the salted caramel cheesecake! The service was great, although it was quiet with only us and one other couple in the restaurant. It was a Tuesday night and the schools are back in session now, so it's not surprising, but it's a shame they weren't busier because they definitely deserved it!

Four of us went out for a Sunday roast last week and were extremely disappointed with the meal. The beef was chewy and the roasted potatoes were overcooked and tough. We requested more potatoes but they were also inedible. We have no intention of returning to this restaurant. The cost per person was between £20-30. Both the food and service were given a rating of 1, while the ambiance received a 3.

My family and I had lunch at this restaurant today, and we were blown away by the experience. We started with a delicious leek and potato soup and a ciabatta bread that were the best we've ever had. I enjoyed the liver bacon with vegetables, my partner loved the prawn salmon linguine, and my Mom raved about her chicken salad with potatoes. The food was all superb. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even allowing us to bring our dog. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back. The price per person was around £30-40, and we rated the food, service, and atmosphere all a perfect 5 out of 5. Thank you for a memorable dining experience.

"Honestly...one of the best pub restaurants I have ever visited! We chose to eat here as it was recommended via Alistair Sawday, and it did not disappoint. The food, atmosphere, hygiene and service were all 5* when we visited last night. We sat inside, by candlelight, and ordered 2 starters (the Rye smoked mackerel with buttercream sauce and the heritage tomato salad and 2 mains (the beef burger with fries and the hake with toasted ciabatta and garden peas . It was truly exquisite! We both cleaned our plates (and we don't usually do that! . My only mild criticism is that I didn't realise the hake dish would include bacon lardons they certainly added to the flavour, but as an ethical pescatarian, this could have ruined the meal for me (I didn't allow it to, but 10 years ago when I was more strict it may have upset me . I may have simply missed this ingredient when reading the menu, and I didn't make the waiting staff aware of my dietary preferences, so I accept this was my fault and not theirs. It's just something for other pescatarians reading this review to be aware of. I have absolute confidence that they would prepare the hake dish without the bacon lardons if you asked. As for me....my boyfriend gleefully took them from my plate and demolished them himself! We also enjoyed a medium glass of wine each my boyfriend (who is very particular loved the tempranillo and I had their Italian pinot grigio. Our entire meal would have been less than £60, but with the current government incentive scheme to eat in, it came to less than £40!! We tipped generously as they truly deserved it. We will 100% be returning and can't advocate them enough."
