"After reading good reviews for Sunday carvery, we decided to try. Although it recommended booking, we took the chance and just called in. We were told if we ate straight away there was a table free. It wasn’t very full and the server took our orders immediately. We both had the carvery, I think that was the only food available, and ordered a 2 course lunch for our dog. We were the only 2 at the carvery, and the trays were well stocked. A member of staff carved your meat gave you a Yorkshire pudding, left us to help ourselves to a range of roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, carrots, cauliflower cheese, and some greens. Roast potatoes couldn’t be cut up as they were tough, mashed potatoes tasted powdery and the veg was a mixture of very hard or bendy! Very disappointing. Our dogs dinner came in a dog bowl, just a small carvery dinner he dived straight in and ate everything but the veg. I asked for his doggy ice cream 4 times before I actually received it. He did enjoy though when he eventually got it."

My being disabled, the staff went out of their way to help me access the restaurant. The food was so good we ate there twice, on the Thursday and Saturday evenings. The prices are not unreasonable, and I would recommend The Laird's Inn to anyone visiting Creetown.

Went as family , on holiday in the area . Disappointed. Menu not brilliant, not a lot of choice- burgers over cooked. Child’s burger, not even slice of cheese( for what that would have cost) , pie alot of gravy. Crispy chicken not too bad. We expected it to be better, but it is what it is, a pub turning out reasonably priced poor food within the caravan park. View menu

We visited this lovely pub 3 times in our weeks holiday, once for a drink and twice for dinner We had our dog with us and sat outside as the weather was lovely. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Our dog Stan had a special meal of “Sunday roast” meat potatoes and gravy in a dog bowl followed by doggy ice cream! Lovely venue would definitely recommend

Absolutely fantastic service, waitresses were friendly and attentive, made an effort to speak to my young children, one of my kids are gluten free and the staff were very clear on what he was able to eat, made sure it was made without any cross contamination which is always a big plus. Food was delicious, piping hot and definitely handmade, perfect portions and the desserts were amazing. Great selection of drinks and a very family friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

I have had the most wonderful, peaceful evening here in the dog part of the pub. Just me and my pooch having dinner. It's warm, lovely music, and the food was superb. Really really superb. I often use a burger as a test of a pub, and this one was off the charts. Tasty, well cooked, generous. Absolutely lovely. Service was also brilliant. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Thank you for a lovely, quiet, peaceful, tasty evening. As a customer I couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you.. View menu

Another fab meal at the lairds inn, reasonable prices especially the desserts at £6 which is very reasonable and good sized portions. The largest portion of creme brulee my husband had ever had, usually it is just a thin layer and not much of it but not at the lairds inn and the biscotti topping was lovely. I had an old favourite profiteroles... yummy. Staff was exceptional , polite, very efficient and food came quickly. Then sat outside in the sun to finnish our drinks. Can highly recommend the lairds inn for a meal out....just hope the chef puts her fabulous steak pie on the autumn menu the individual fully encased one it is tremendous,,,,many thanks all be back soon

We were stuck for something to eat as nothing in Newton Stewart seemed to be open, and we found Lairds Inn online. The menu looked good, so we quickly booked a table. Our satnav seemed to have difficulty getting us there, but a very helpful local gentleman got us back on track. It turns out the inn is in the middle of the Castle Cary holiday park, something that wasn't immediately obvious from their website. We finally arrived and had a fabulous meal, sitting outside in glorious sunshine. The barman, sorry we didn't get his name, was so welcoming and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. He is a definite asset to the establishment and seemed to be on the go continually. The food is reasona...

"Myself and my partner where just outside of portpatrick yesterday and wondered about somewhere to have lunch, it was about 12.30pm on a scorching hot Bank holiday Sunday. We hadn’t actually planned to go there to start with but thought why not. I saw on Facebook Connors Restaurant had just uploaded a Facebook post about stopping there for a choice of 2 lovely menus and a cheeky gin, sounded perfect! The post had went up about 15 mins before we arrived, so I assumed they must be looking to take some tables. I walked down and there where 2 tables taken outside, and 1 table inside. I asked if I could get a table for 2 outside if possible and I was told no they had been reserved and I thought okay but before I could even open my mouth again she said all tables inside where also reserved that they where fully booked. There was 1 table inside, other wise it was pretty empty. Ok no problem, we found somewhere else so no big deal, after about 2 hours spent having food and wondering around we went back to the car (parked just up from Connors restaurant) and I noticed again there was only the 1 table outside, and no one at the others. I’m maybe wrong but I felt like this was odd, the inside didn’t look like it was “fully booked” either. It actually looked a little dead compared to everywhere else. This has also happened to my friends a couple of times too they’ve went in and the place has been stone dead but got turned away because of the excuse of being fully booked. Just felt like it was not quite right. Sorry I never usually write reviews but felt like I had to get my point across on this one. We would love to dine here and hopefully will in the future."
