The Lone Star Cafe - Menu

Huge portions of excellent food! Ribs on the starter menu were amazing but did mean we struggled to finish main course...not that's negative. Lively buzz to the place.

Came here prior to going to see Walter Trout. Friendly clean, and the food outstanding, there no other way to describe it. From the starter to the mains, top quality, portion side well I surrendered in the end. Superb, you'll not be disappointed.

Our favourite restaurant to go to anytime we are in the area. The food is always spot on, we like getting a starter each then we share the fajitas. It's absolutely delicious. Updated Oct 2022 went again this week, superb as usual added a few more photos.

Has an atmosphere and people do enjoy eating here. But the food is a little bland and nothing like real mexican or even the variety to be found in bigger cities In the UK. My friend did enjoy , but the other 2 of us didn't . The shin beef however was cooked well. Friendly helpful staff .

I have a gluten and dairy free diet and this restaurant made it easy. Presented me with my own decent size menu and checked, without fuss, what else I needed. With two teens and a husband eating too we all really enjoyed our food. High quality, decent portions and good value. The staff were lovely. Highly recommend, especially on a special diet.

This was our first visit to this Texmex restaurant and we were not disappointed. We were told that the portion sizes were generous and they delivered. We ordered Dirty Steak tacos, Buttermilk Chicken tacos and Steak strips, Tiger Prawns, salad and potato wedges. The staff were very friendly and the total bill came in under £60 (Including drinks), between the three of us. This place is definitely worth a visit while in Buxton.

We booked a table as we were going to the opera house, saw this place on Google maps and it was very close. We arrived a little early but were shown straight to our table by one of the servers. We ordered a new to us dish, Birra beef tacos, it was great, flavoursome and brilliant portion size, we added the loaded fries. Price was great, service was fab. Thank you for a great dining experience, and we look forward to visiting again.

We came here on the 23rd Decemeber as we were staying in Buxton for the night for our anniversary. Even though it was fairly busy with christmas parties (to be expected) the staff were excellent. They asked us which table we would prefer and were very quick with asking for our order and delivering extra drinks etc. we didnt feel as if the parties were taking priority. The food was absoloutley delicious, portions were huge and we throughly enjoyed it. We would definitely come back here if we were in Buxton again.

Wanted to write a quick review tonight as after a stressful day and 5 hour drive from home , stopping over in Buxton with a 2 year old for the night, we were starving. We had just received our drinks when our son was very ill… The staff working could not have been kinder, calmer or more helpful and helped us to sort him out and change our meal order to a takeaway. It was water off a duck’s back to them, which we really appreciated. The food was lovely, really enjoyed it. Thanks so much for your kindness and if we’re ever over this way again we hope to be able to eat in next time (maybe we’ll leave our son at home! .
