"I can’t recommend this pub highly enough. It truly embodies the essence of a village pub, featuring traditional decor and a cozy atmosphere, alongside a contemporary menu. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and well-informed about the food and drinks they offer. They were very helpful in accommodating our individual dietary needs and managed to fit us in despite our last-minute reservation. Since it often fills up quickly, it's best to plan ahead! Had a really nice meal with family. Nice atmosphere and very cosy feel to the place in general. Food was really good quality and the kids portions were pretty big as well. Would definitely come here again

The perfect pub in a Dorset village, with a charmingly traditional atmosphere and a concise menu featuring all fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The beautiful garden adds to the appeal, making it arguably the prettiest village in Dorset. I absolutely love it!

Lovely lunch visit... Very friendly welcome. Highly recommend the steak and ale pie... Home made by landlord apparently.... Really like the suet pastry, served with gravy, which is a nice touch that too many pubs miss... Oh and great proper chips all served with a nice pint of Palmer's gold. View menu

My partner and I visited for a pre-booked Sunday lunch. Upon entering the pub, we were warmly welcomed and quickly seated. We chose our drinks, and the beer was excellent. Both of us ordered the roast beef with all the trimmings, which was absolutely delicious. I couldn't resist having dessert, and it was just as good. The value was great, and the atmosphere was fantastic in such a lovely building. Oh, we will definitely be coming back! Food: 5/5

Hello! Season's greetings! Today, a large group of friends and I gathered for lunch and decided to try the Christmas menu. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, along with the kind hospitality from the host, made for a delightful experience. The beautifully decorated interior, complete with a real fire, added to the charm. Our meals were fabulous—hot and perfectly cooked—making it an unforgettable occasion. Thank you! I highly recommend this excellent establishment.
