"This is my favourite cafe in the Balham/Tooting Bec area, and there are about 10. I think it used to be a dairy and has a lot of character due to its exposed brick walls and rails. You can sit here for hours typing and drinking coffee, plus there is a little back garden. It is a pleasure to sit here and drink and eat, although. I only eat here occasionally (breakfast usually) which usually tastes good. They are a bit slow to serve sometimes but it is a busy place. They were very good when I ordered a whole cake recently, supplying a very good chocolate cake for £25. Long may the cafe continue."

Enjoyed a superb flat white coffe and Danish pastry sitting outside on a sunny Sunday morning while waiting for a train at Victoria round the corner. A busy road but a great place to chill and watch the Londin traffic pass by.

Nice space with seats outside but that is pretty much it. Service was sloppy and chaotic, a cup of tea is literally a tea bag in the smalles cup you can think. Bar area looked unkept and generally lacking of atmosphere.Sandwich average

The muffin was not toasted, felt raw. The spinach in the florentine was also cold. Eggs under the factory made mayonnaise tasting sauce was hard boiled rather than poached. Combining this with hefty prices I wouldn't recommend this place. View menu

The building is lovely which is what drew us in. The menu was large but out of date as I got an alternative to what I ordered. The staff do have language difficulties with English. I know absolutely no Polish or Croatian so they are doing better than I but nevertheless...

I took my parents to breakfast here recently as this is somewhere I have had breakfast a number of times. As usual the service was efficient and our food was quickly brought to the table. The food was tasty although I would prefer my orange juice to be bit-free. I consider breakfast for 3 for less than £20 to be good value for money.

This review is for the cafe on Balham High Road. Great place for coffee and pastries, toast, breakfast. Pleasing venue with some original fittings. Good coffee, full fat milk (I am very fussy and won't have coffee without! . Delightful, capable, long standing staff. Sometimes I go for tea as well...Only downside is that they don't accept any cards. View menu

In search of a place that was not part of any fast-food chain, we stumbled upon this old wooden former pharmacy, very charming. Courtesy of the staff and quick service are the main features; great food and reasonable cost the rest! Recommended; the only perhaps uncomfortable note is that the restaurant contains only 5 small round tables inside and a small space with three tables outside. If possible, I would return today.

Went for Sunday Breakfast. Cafe looked great. Was served immediately but somehow it just misses. Tea should have been served in a pot rather than a tea bag in a cup. Full Breakfasts looked good but the organic sausages were beef and a little strange tasting The tomatoes were very salty and the overall taste wasn't as good as it looked. However, get points for serving some excellent granary toast and HP Sauce. With only one serving and one cooking, it was difficult for them to handle the demand. Two more only arrived at 10am. With just a few adjustments, the place could be so much better.
