"My first time in Oban and I couldn't pass up the chance to try the world-renowned fish and chips! The place was bustling, so I decided to get it to go. The customer service was lightning-fast and efficient. The fish served here is guaranteed to be the freshest catch in town. They even make their own mouthwatering tartare sauce. The fish was incredibly juicy and the batter was perfectly crispy. The sprinkling of vinegar and salt added an irresistible extra crunch and burst of flavor. I absolutely adored the whole experience!"

"it was told here by some friends, so it thought about the time I visited. we went to Sunday midday and could not believe that the price-performance ratio that offers the three course-set menu. all tasted great and the service was excellent. the staff was warm and friendly. will definitely come back and probably go to dinner. a must visit for lunch when they enjoy seafood and want a quality and a value for money."

"We were out looking for a nice evening meal and walked by TGFR’s large front window for the carry out part of the restaurant. It was hopping. We noticed that there was a sit down part of the restaurant right next to it but not connected. We looked in and there was only one table open and we did not have bookings: no problem, they said to take that table. It was only once we were inside that we noticed there is another section of dining upstairs. It is a small place that runs like clockwork.We both have food allergies: no problem. We had the smoked salmon trio without the pate, broiled halibut and hake with the chips and rocket. Cooked perfectly. Asked the waiter to bring a nice mellow whisky because I am not familiar with all the local options and it was also excellent.The wait staff were well organized and worked well together. Our waiter was top notch.I would not hesitate to recommend this compact restaurant for an oversized amount of satisfaction."

While it can feel a bit slow at times, I believe it's worth embracing that experience. It's worth mentioning that Baab is a Mediterranean restaurant located in the Scottish Highlands—a delightful surprise! After three weeks of heavy pub fare and fine multi-course European dining, we appreciated the refreshing change in ingredients, flavors, and pacing of the meal at Baab. We approached our meal with the expectation of a slower pace and were pleased that it was neither too slow nor lacking in flavor. I wholeheartedly recommend Baab, especially if you're looking for a break from typical Scottish cuisine. As for vegetarian options, they offer plenty, and all allergens are clearly listed on the menu. Parking is also a breeze with ample street parking available."
