"Just been for lunch with drinks which I paid for using my card then had another round of drinks which my partner paid for then challenged saying we had a third round of drinks which we had not had. Manager then came out saying he believed his staff but would give us the benefit of the doubt. Would not mind but we would have had a third drink if it had not been for the fact that they tried to rip us off. Also asked for mayonnaise and ketchup for the meal which we never got. Was planning on takinkg 2 friends for lunch on Sunday but wont be going now. Would not mind but we had spent over £35 and we were only there about just over an hour. This pub does not deserve to be in business if thats how they treat their customers."

Just been in the rising sun in Bredbury. Great for travellers to Stockport area as it’s right next to Bredbury train station. The landlord and and landlady are so welcoming and the place is lovely. There is plenty of seating and it’s so clean, with atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable. I have been told kitchen will be open in a couple of weeks as the new management needed to make changes, so can’t wait for a Sunday lunch in there. Worth a visit definitely.

Went here for weekday lunch and it didn’t disappoint. I couldn’t find the menu anywhere online sadly, but when we arrived and had a look, there were a lot of different options to choose from (wraps, burgers, fish chips etc. . We sat outside as it was a nice day and there was a decent sized seating area at the back. We will definitely be going back, the food was great and the staff were very friendly. Saw a couple of low reviews on here before visiting but, our experience didn’t match that and we really enjoyed it : View menu

My hubby and I went here for his birthday meal last night. We were the only ones in there. There wasn't much on the menu. We'd only had a couple of sips of our drinks and we wanted to leave. It was more like a youth centre than a pub and that was just the owners and their friends. They were VERY loud and messing around, so annoying and not professional at all. Such a shame they have ruined a lovely relaxed pub. Let's hope somebody decent takes over. We ended up in Madras Spice, we should have gone there in the 1st place but we wanted to give The Rising Sun a go, never again while the current owners have it. AVOID.

Whilst traveling through Bredbury, we decided to call into The Rising Sun today, it was only 4pm with approximately 4 mature customers in, The loud rap music wasn't really welcoming for the time of day, I ordered a pint of John Smiths bitter, and a glass of soda water for my wife as she was driving, the charge was £3.40 for the beer, and £1.60 for a half pint of carbonated water, which is equal to £3.20 a pint, how do these prices promote don't drink and drive, the John Smiths beer was cloudy, but giving leeway, my pint was probably the first one to be served that day, and the young lady very kindly turned down the volume of the music that was playing.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
