"On a beautiful day, my partner and I decided to try something different than our usual restaurants. He suggested a place he knew, and we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is cozy inside, with a few tables, as well as outdoor seating. I ordered a tuna mayo sandwich and my partner had a corned beef baguette, both of which were beautifully presented and delicious. The bread on my sandwich was the freshest I've ever tasted on a pre-made sandwich. We ended our meal with apple pie and cream, which was served exactly as we requested and was also delicious. The staff were friendly and professional. They offer a great selection of chocolates and a small but nice collection of gifts and souvenirs. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning."

Thank you for the lovely welcome that we received today, especially the treats for the dogs. The staff were friendly and welcoming, efficient and the food was great. We’ll be back.

Immaculately clean cafe that was just about to close when we arrived. We ordered 3 teas and 3 pasties to take away, but the owner offered to wait while we ate our lunch. Pasties were lovely and tea spot on! Thank you so much. Highly recommended.

I rated this restaurant as terrible because it is CLOSED. My family has been stopping here for many years on our way to Anglesey, but the interior has been completely changed. Additionally, if you stop in the car park to use the toilets, there is now a 30p entry fee, cash only. View menu

Dulcie and Allan continue to uphold their already high standards of friendliness, cleanliness and great food and drink. Their artisan chocolates are a must have. As I say to folks coming in to visit North Wales make it a first stop. We purchased a quirky sheep flower pot to remind us of our visit. Well done ...

A group of 17 of us were staying nearby and wanted some sandwiches and crisps for our walk. The Riverside Chocolate House obliged. The owner made us fresh sandwiches with a packet of crisps for around £3 and even though the shop closed the owner stayed on to make the sandwiches fresh and even delivered them to our bunk house. Marvellous service and lovely fresh sandwiches.

Positive aspects of this restaurant include good coffee and a friendly young man serving tables. However, there were some negatives as well. The woman taking orders at the till was abrupt and appeared very stressed. While it's understandable that everyone can have a bad day, her demeanor made me feel uncomfortable to the point where I considered leaving. Thankfully, my husband needed to eat at that time. Despite the welcoming issue, the lunch, coffee, and sandwiches were delicious. View menu

Came across this little place on our way back from anglesey, so glad we stopped by the sandwiches was the freshest we have ever had lovely friendly owners and staff very polite even our dog got a doggy treat. We treated ourselves to a selection of the most gorgeous chocolates we have ever tasted wished I had bought one of each of the display .there was ample parking and a kids playground just across the way and also a small nature walk over a bridge made a lovely stop of for us to exercise the dog too.Would not hesitate to pop back in when we are up in anglesey again or in the area its a five stars from us.

As soon as came into Wales this was the first place I saw and told my husband we needed to visit! We popped in to see what times they were open and visited twice over the course of our stay. The cafe is only little, but they have a lovely little outside area too. Really friendly people who run the cafe and they make their own chocolate!! We bought some and have had it since we have been home and it was delicious! The food was nice, my husband and I had sandwiches and scones. Their hot chocolate is real drinking chocolate, and you can choose from all different flavours, and it was lovely, the best hot chocolate I've had. I was sorry to leave and would love to visit again!

"Whenever I get the inclination to write a review it’s usually because it’s so good and I want to shout about my experience to everyone… however this is not my usual 5* recommendation! As locals we have visited this cafe on a few occasions for breakfast or a coffee stop. It’s a great location, nice decor, dog friendly and delicious food. What’s not to like? Well, the staff, or more specifically the owner! She lacks any customer service skills, she smiles through gritted teeth, orders her staff around while she stands observing (or waiting for an argument . Each time we’ve visited she’s had an issue with something. Once she argued with me because I asked for my latte to be served in a cup rather than a tall glass. She proceeded to try and educate me on coffee making (I’m barista trained ! She reluctantly gave me it to me in a mug with a jug of extra milk which wouldn’t fit into the mug anyway! More recently we arrived, it was quiet, and chose to sit in the window (the largest table as we had our dog and didn’t want him to be in the way. She rushed over and demanded we sat at another table because she “couldn’t afford for us to take up a larger table”. We moved without an issue but she was very confrontational (as always and made the rest of our dining experience uncomfortable. So uncomfortable in fact that despite being ravenous we almost didn’t order. The cafe remained quiet throughout our time there, plenty of empty tables and yet she proceeded to use the larger window table to accommodate her staff, herself and a friend who popped in. How is that fair? So my advice to you as a fellow catering/ hospitality manager is… Learn from your Trip Advisor feedback, Book yourself on a free customer service course and lead by example and if you are worried about costs reduce the number of staff. 5 staff on duty in a cafe that seats approx 25 people at full capacity is not needed. Maybe the owner should put her feet up at home and let the lovely younger people do their thing. They all look so nervous around her and are almost too afraid to speak. I’m sure they’d do a far better job without her monitoring their every move. Even the Chef (her husband maybe? looks petrified of her!! Certain people are not cut out for customer facing roles and she is one of them! I’m pretty sure she doesn’t read any of these reviews as she’s been like this since my first visit 5 years ago!! What a shame. This place could be a thriving business and a welcoming village cafe but I’m sure her confrontational attitude and unwelcoming nature put people off from returning. Such a shame as the food and coffee are delightful"
