"We were quite disappointed with our visit. We sat in the bar area and had to wait a long time for our drinks. My husband's beer was incorrect, and even after two pints were poured, he had to settle for a different option. We then waited quite a while to place our food order. I ordered the plaice and requested that they not add samphire, but no alternative was offered. My husband’s burger was fine, but we ended up waiting an additional 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. Although we received a complimentary glass of Prosecco with my dish and my husband’s beer was free, the meal was still pricey, especially since they also charged a service fee despite the lack of service. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning."

Our first time here for Sunday lunch and it was brilliant particularly given the number of people there! there were 3 sittings and it was packed great atmosphere and fabulous food and service. Will come again.

I visited The Star with friends and had an amazing experience! The Sunday roast was beautiful, complete with all the delicious trimmings. The staff were friendly and very attentive, making for a lovely evening overall. We definitely plan to return!

This was the best dining experience we've had in a long time. Hats off to the entire staff! When the food is exceptional, everything else just falls into place. We enjoyed three courses with six adults and two children, and everyone left with empty plates. Plus, it's dog-friendly—definitely a bonus!

We reserved a table for 16 to celebrate a golden wedding anniversary. The restaurant provided us with the entire conservatory, and the staff did an outstanding job organizing the event. They even prepared name cards indicating each guest's food choices, and remarkably, every dish was served hot. The quality of the food was superb. The service, particularly from Alex, was exceptional, showcasing his excellent organizational skills. Together with Donna’s expertise, they contributed to making my sister’s celebration and our evening truly memorable. Thank you!

I had a very enjoyable evening with friends to express my gratitude for their support after my hip injury. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. As a vegetarian, my only suggestion would be to expand the menu a bit; having more options would certainly enhance the experience. Instead of just the classic fish and chips, something like cauliflower or macaroni and cheese with chips would be easy to prepare, fresh, and a delightful traditional option. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and look forward to my next visit if more vegetarian options are offered! Thank you for a lovely evening and the warm atmosphere.
